Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

     | Upon the hearth the fire is red,Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
 Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!
 | Still round the corner there may waitA new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!
 | Home is behind, the world ahead,And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
Well wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

The grass is always greener over the septic tank. I proved that point when I lived out in the old place. When I had my lateral lines replaced I made sure that they got planted under my garden area. Had good maters and watermelons then. :-)
I know, you're prolly grossed out like ever'body else.

I'm thinkin' the reason us elves have such lush green places is that you dwarves come around to visit often enough to keep the place well fertilized. :-)

Huzzah! A whole-family day! Other than Sunday Go To Meetin', that rarely happens anymore. That'll be nice! Maybe if you keep doing stuff like that someday you'll work up to a whole-family anime day! (like maybe in 100 years of course :)

Hmmm...we had a bit of dream analysis goin' on earlier and we touched upon Dairy Queen food and the Shrek 2 movie. Other than that, not much. :-)
I'm a bit bummed because ADP is having their first annual company family picnic at Parrot Jungle on the 12th and I don't have a date. I was just mentioning to Bear earlier than I'm trying to secure a date to go see Shrek 2.
It's tough being a single mom (I know you know). It gets a bit lonely at times and I need to do fun stuff without the kids sometimes.
I'm in prayer about it because I don't want to get involved with anyone who isn't going to be "good" for me, if you know what I mean. I don't need a bigger mess than the one I've already got.

Not at all. My drainfield is in the front yard. The deep green grass shows where the pipe runs are. :-)

Sigh... I get excited over silly things, I know, but I like spending time with my dad. I actually didn't mind getting stuck in traffic coming home Wednesday because it gave us a chance to talk, and we never do that.

I don't talk about him that much, but I'm just like him in so many ways... it makes me happy when it looks like he's really enjoying spending time with us. Sometimes he gets so busy with work.

I know I'm going to miss my family a lot once I'm gone. Maybe I should go downstairs and hang.

Later folks. Luke's having a meltdown and it's my turn to put him to bed.

I agree with Corin, Jen. It isn't silly at all!

I'm 31 years old and I miss my dad, even though he ran off to live in Chicago after divorcing my mom. Despite his faults, I love him, and it's normal to want to be around him...especially us Daddy's Girls. :-)

Oh Ruthy! I know exactly what you mean! Gees, can't you make Ramius come down and at least go to your company picnic with you? I mean it's only the weekend before the wedding. He *ought* to have all the work done he needs to complete by then! *grin*

I will be praying for you about that. It's always lonely when you end up doing stuff by yourself... but it's better than someone you know is wrong!

hehehehe....I like Ramius too much to drag him to that parade of weasels, sis! Although it would be fair considering I'll be getting into his boat within 3 weeks. LOL!!

But seriously, thanks for your support and prayers. The Hobbit Hole has really been a terrific source of encouragement to me and I'm grateful for all of you.
