Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Aww...poooor kitty!
I had a weird breakfast, just because. Not breakfast food...stir-fried broccoli and spinach and leftover haddock, with olive oil and lemon. It was very tasty, actually, though not exactly breakfasty.

Morning Hobbit Hole!
Fedora - I don't mind the teasing, so don't feel like you overstepped anything, OK? I'm seriously nervous in and around water, but I'm not gonna let fear control my life. I'll have a few drinks and get in the boat eventually. I'll just be white-knuckled and sitting dead-center. *laughing*
Ramius - I'll get in the boat, dear. Just don't rock around too much or I'll be sure to hurl in YOUR direction!!!
Everyone - there's only one other creature that terrifies me more than sharks....

Everyone - there's only one other creature that terrifies me more than sharks.... Now why on earth would a little 'palmetto bug' bother you? ;o)

I figgered they could just build another house around the television(s), if need be.

Yeah, but I don't want to show up empty-handed either! I'm trying to decide whether I should go thru Amazon or pick something up when I get there.
I'm arriving on Thursday, so I do have a day or so of lead time! :-)
