Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

"Ignorance and savagery would be an improvement." I said that because those things in and of themselves do not necessarily contain malice.
Yeah, your assessment of Islamic sensibilities is right on target, IMO.
My opinion of the way to take into account those sensibilities is to annilhate them.

I'm sure I could think of SOMETHING to complain about for a coupla hundred posts or so... ;-)
Unfortunately, I think that's why I usually get high post counts. And things have been pretty good lately so I haven't been whinin'. And I'm afraid people will get annoyed if I talk TOOO much about cooking and music and such...so I've been lurking more than usual.

Rush was about to play the audio tape again. Once was enough (although I know I needed to hear it). I haven't seen or heard this video. I have heard the beheading described and that has been enough for me. It makes me sick and pi$$ed off just thinking about it.
Grrrrr, should we email President Bush Romans 13?
- For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: for he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. - Romans 13:3-4 (KJV)

It's bad. His prognosis is very bad. We are praying for a miracle.I'll put him back on active prayers on our Parish Prayer line.

It was a wonderful teaching moment...It sure was! It's a good ting to teach kids to be aware of when the Spirit is nudging them. Sometimes He has to use a spiritual 2 x 4, but that works, too!
