Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Yawn... tired... thought I'd report that I got in another workout last night.

Good deal! I got mine in, too.

What's Corin snickering about ;O)

My guess is it's either the chewy chocolate or the creamy nougat.

Rush was about to play the audio tape again. Once was enough (although I know I needed to hear it).

But I turned off the radio and put in a Praise and Worship CD. And I am reminded:

Revelation 21:3-5
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

Never forget. I've read the back of the Book.

We win this thing.

Picture of my desk project... These are the two tables ecurbh and I use as desks.... Big ole plywood tables, one 3x8, the other 4x7. We have been using them unmatched and crummy lookin' since ecurbh got here, one was painted white once, but was now many other colors from being my workbench for awhile, and the other was never painted.

Got them all painted with a couple coats, and the shelf and box my printer sits on painted to match.

when I explained to theboy that the terrorists cut of Nick Berg's head, he shook his head and muttered, "kill 'em all..."

I know I should hear it too, but I just can't. I think it would really make me physically ill for several days.

But I know you are right...we know the ending.

Kinda like ROTK...they go through a lot and some don't make it, but in the end, it was worth it.

I think that's why I like both books so much...

""kill 'em all..."

I can't find any justification for the existence of Islam, at this point. Ignorance and savagery would be an improvement.

I love that passage. We used it at my mother's funeral. And I wore my brightest, happiest dress, one that she loved and picked out for me. I'm sure I shocked some people, but although not having her is really, really rough at times...I know this isn't the end, and that was my way of acknowledging that.

Which has nothing to do with what you were talking about, I know. But you're right.

You know, Sam, I'm beginning to have the same feelings myself. If Muslims worldwide DON'T cry out in horror at that video, they DESERVE to be excoriated by all civilized peoples.
