Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

All this time and energy and the best I've been able to give you is a good case of hiccups???
Clearly, I'm slippin'.

Just ask the Balrog, and his "minions". Not sure about this... are you callin' me a minion of the Balrog? Nails are very sharp tonight Ramius. Careful of your answer. :-)

No... I was clear the other night about the balrog. His minions are merely his stooges within the company. And stooges they are. Too bad they don't see it. Sad for them. ;-)

What *haven't* I done?? I'm pretty much OK with the idea that everything is my fault. Just ask the Balrog, and his "minions".Hmmm--sounds like we need to start a Ramius conspiracy theory proving everything was your fault. For evidence, see:
Bert is Evil!
If you look closely at the picture here, Ramius is clearly visible next to Bert in the crowd in the top picture.

It's that rugged Rohirrim manliness of his. Just does us single hobbit-lasses and elf-wimmin in! ~swoon~So that's what causes hiccups! :)

Can't post my list of things that are Ramius' fault. This is a family thread. ;-)

Well, that could've been some of it. It's overcast and wet and cold (it doesn't get muggy here much, here when the air's saturated, usually the temperature is cool to cold). But cold overcast in May isn't the most uplifting weather, so that might've had an effect (it was wet and cold, but even worse, yesterday).

So that's what causes hiccups! :) It's the shock of it all. You've heard what's said of Celeborn and Haldir. Much more exciting to run into one of those men of Rohan. Specially for a lady elf. :-P

That sounds like what we have except it's a bit warmer; very damp, though--"muggy" might not be the precise word I'm looking for but it's very damp in a foggy, London-like kind of way. It's not helping my sinuses, either!

What great news about baby Abigail. Thanks for the ping! I made sure the Foxholers saw it, too.
Congratulations, Mom and Dad!

I made sure the Foxholers saw it, too. Thanks Samwise! I knew there were others who should see it but hadn't thought ahead to get a list from PE! Appreciate that from you! :-)
