Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Congrats you two.
A duaghter is a wonderful thing.
Even when later on she decidees to wear makeup and learn to drive.
(But that's years away, so don't sweat it yet.)
WN, thanks for the update.

Yes.
Children are a wonderful blessing to those who are lucky enough to have them.
(In my case, they'll likely be demon spawn bent on generating purgatory or worse on Earth. But that's merely children I might have.)

I'm sure any children you have will be good children.

Remember the parental curse of 'may you have children JUST LIKE YOU'?
It works.
My brother has found this out.
And, considering the stuff I did as a child, I don't think building a bomb proof bunker in the backyard so that any child of mine, son or daughter, doesn't flatten the house is a good idea.
*chuckle*

I made a wise, well advised and thought out decision with that.
Yikes is right.
Fire, flood, fulmination doesn't seem like a good idea for house or sanity..

So I am told.
I got to see my brother's spawn children.
And tehy were all just like him, so far.
(3 boys, one daughter.. Daughter will be one year old this year. She's doing some things early.. like rolling over when she was one day old, making lot's of 'chatter' noise when only 3 days old.. sheesh.)
