Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Good work! Now we need a logo. How about Bakshi Saruman wielding a pen instead of a staff?
To: Pippin
I didn't do it!

"Brethern" is generic.
Ugh, to save my mom's sanity I got Grandma out early by taking her for coffee. Two hours of her calling my by my nickname I hate and changed 11 years ago, complaining about television shows, and comparing my mother to her brother, unfavorably. Ugh, it's nothing with Corin's problems but... if I had three wishes, one would be to make my grandparents a little less self-centered.
It really hurts me to watch my mom with her mom, because her mom is so mean and hurtful and spiteful.

Well, considering our odd pen sprays ink, Bakshi Saruman should be either spraying someone with ink, or spraying himself in the face with the ink.
That'd make the pen tie into it all, but I'm not sure that works as a logo.
It may be better off having him point menacingly with the pen.

Grandparents can be like that at times.
Unfortunately.
But, Bretheren may be generic, but it makes the Company name much more impressive with "Sisteren" or "Sister" in there as well.

And what is wrong with calling it "Sisteren"?
Or "Sister" ?
Hmmmm!

Brethren and Sistren in Conquest, an LLC company, an EOE
"We're plotting about you, all the time."
We have the name, and motto, but we have yet to find a logo.
Fedora suggested Bakshi Saruman weilding the evil odd ink spraying fountain pen that is our chief weapon.

"Brethern" is generic. So is Bic, so it fits! :)
It was nice of you to help your Mom out with Grandma. I have some relatives who are like that sometimes, so I know that can be tough to deal with. I'm sure it made your Mom's Mother's Day easier that you helped out with that.
I read a little about Japanese and samurai history this afternoon. I learned that "ken" means "sword", which made me wonder if that has anything to do with Kenshin's name.
To: Pippin
Yeah.
I kept wondering who put that there.
Truly a ponderment to me.
Usually it says "Darkshearesfault"

He could be pointing menacingly; or else maybe we could have the Eye of Sauron hovering over a pen, kinda like the Masonic Eye in the Pyramid on the dollar bill.

Yeah, it does - I don't think it's spoiling much to say his name was "Shinta" until at a young age after a very traumatic event, he was taken on as an apprentice by a slightly odd guy who said Shinta was too weak a name for a swordsman, and so renamed him "Kenshin".
His master's pretty cool. Also may be insane. Hiko Seijuro. You'll meet him during the "Legend of Kyoto" cycle, several times.
