Even though the sun is there why do the universe seems to be dark i.e. why there is no light in universe. After having asked this question how come the earth gets the light.

As I suspected, you are part of the Dung Conspiracy. Don't try to change the subject. Answer, if you dare: What are you doing with earth's dung?

Post 62 will solve your problems. Not quite. About ten or twelve years ago I got a whole bunch, a WHOLE BUNCH of notifications that read like "VadeRetro, YOU HAVE ALREADY WON TWENTY MILLION DOLLARS." But I never got the money and now it doesn't happen anymore.

... and now it doesn't happen anymore. I can help. Post your email address and I'll forward all my spam to you. I now get over 100 spams a day, and I'm looking for a place to send the stuff.

Why aren't the Great Plains buried in buffalo dung? There's a movie starting Friday that just might answer this age old conundrum!

or ... there are aliens out there who swoop in at night and gather up the dung for their own purposes ... hiding it on the far side of the moon ... waiting until they have accumulated enough to ... to what? That's what I want to know!!!!"Festival of the Guano-Bandits"

Now see here! Dirtboy and myself have already decided that they do not look like bunnies at all, and the term dust vole is far more appropriate, ....
Yea, but dust bunnies, multiply like rabbit, and not like voles. Hence the term "dust bunnies". They require no food or water, yet they grow. They do not need to be herded to pasture. Their natural instinct guide them to dark quiet corners and under the bed. Beware of the giant dust bunnies, under the bed. Sweet dreams and good night to all.

Yes, this is just what you think it is: "Aye-yi-yi-yiiiii; I am the Guano-Bandito!"

welcome to freep. why the dumb question?
To: theFIRMbss
" If the wavelengths are shortened (a blueshift) the star is approaching us; if the wavelengths are lengthened (a redshift) the star is receding from us."
other theories include the ages of stars and the heat of said stars.
the red-shift, blue-shift theory tends to be more highly regarded by more vocal scientists, but as we cannot observe more than what we can see from here, we can only assume either.

I think this chart explains it all for you Newbie:

You left out the best part. If, as some suppose, the universe has enough mass to stop expanding and contract into a "big crunch," the moment it starts contracting, the red shift stops, and we will all instantly fry.
