My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guides we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

As Winds That Blow Against A Star
by Joyce Kilmer
(For Aline)
Now by what whim of wanton chance
Do radiant eyes know sombre days?
And feet that shod in light should dance
Walk weary and laborious ways?
But rays from Heaven, white and whole,
May penetrate the gloom of earth;
And tears but nourish, in your soul,
The glory of celestial mirth.
The darts of toil and sorrow, sent
Against your peaceful beauty, are
As foolish and as impotent
As winds that blow against a star.

Good morning to you! Happy Thursday!
Ebb Tide
Sarah Teasdale
When the long day goes by
And I do not see your face,
The old wild, restless sorrow
Steals from its hiding place.
My day is barren and broken,
Bereft of light and song,
A sea beach bleak and windy
That moans the whole day long.
To the empty beach at ebb tide,
Bare with its rocks and scars,
Come back like the sea with singing,
And light of a million stars.

Oh this is gorgeous. I'm sure you have heard the song Ebb Tide. One of my favorites. I've not heard it in years.

Garage Sale
Get your lazy self
Out of that bed.
There's junk to buy
You can sleep when you're dead!
Fire up the wagon
Clear out all that stuff
(I hope my big U-Haul
has space for enough!)
Hotdog! What a find!
I'm the first on my block
To have an authentic
Armenian rock!
Now, these will look great
Standing next to my shrubs.
It's easy to trim
And it only eats grubs.
Amazing! How cool!
This thing has great charms.
A genuine Venus de Milo
With arms!
An original Picasso.
You can tell by the faces.
Plus the paint and the numbers
Are all in the right places.
O wow! first edition.
The Old Man and the Sea.
Imagine that, it was written
In 2003!
Time to head home
I've got quite a large load, so
I'll save all my stuff to go on
Antiques Roadshow!

I don't go to very many garage sales but sometimes there is some really neat stuff you remember from your childhood there.

Punctuation is a pain
and some poets I know remain
true to the constants of commas
and such - while a free verser as me
can't be stuck with tidy rules
of why and wherefores
I bravely move freely in space
and let the rest fall on their face..

Out amoung the leafy fern
turning heads to the warm
sun of an afternoon smelling
ferny in the air as I wonder here
and there in my back yard this
day watching Finch's in their play
of dipping in the flowering Apple
scooting O'Er the bird bath supple
annoying squirrels on the run
and flapping pigeons sitting
in the sun
