Punctuation is a pain
and some poets I know remain
true to the constants of commas
and such - while a free verser as me
can't be stuck with tidy rules
of why and wherefores
I bravely move freely in space
and let the rest fall on their face..

Punctuation I like to see a comma, it lets me get caught up,
And catch a little breath from what Im drinking in the cup.
I dont quite get semi-colon, thats like parentheses.
It goes off in strange directions that one seldom even sees.
I understand quotations. They stand out from the text.
And when I see the first one then I know anothers next.
The period is the final mark with letters to annoint,
And every time I see it then Ill know youve made your point.
