Does it help if you threaten her with glue-factory?I have been trying to convince her that I am ~not~ going to kill her!
Two years ago.... she'd have been shaking like a leaf just to be stressed this much!

I am going to hold you to that. That's what Aunt Cheryl always says too. And her horses bit me!

Scaredy-pony, huh. Does she pull her weight at all, or is she just nice company?

I think her fear of failure is real... She was pretty beat-up by whoever started her. I can't move quick around her or she panics. She isn't afraid of things on her own, she is afraid of messing up in front of people.

I'd rather not even show up for the stupid ceremony, too, but it's expected. Ah well. You KNOW your Mama and Daddy want to see you get that diploma!
We're not going to the schoolwide CMU ceremony. They don't recognize the graduates individually anyway. Each School has its own ceremony, just following the big one, so we'll go the one for the School of Computer Science. We'll go to the breakfast for the graduates and their families at the Department on Sunday morning, then we'll go back to the hotel, get checked out, then come back for the diploma event. We decided to come in later on Sat. afternoon, so we'll probably call you in the late afternoon, and meet up with you. We'll probably take David out for a nice dinner on Sunday after the diploma ceremony, then head on home.

I have been trying to convince her that I am ~not~ going to kill her! She looks like a good-sized pony. Maybe more work with her will pay off in added confidence in her.
Marl's favorite pony is Malabar, out of the crazy Arab stallion she first leased. Extremely smart, and very lazy. In addition to the "show me you know what you're doing" Arab trait, he has his own "show me you're smarter than I am" quirk. This is very effective on kids, but he doesn't get away with it with her, because he knows she feeds him.
All of Aki's pony babies, however, are born with his "let's get down to business" attitude when it comes to work. Amazing, considering ponies are by nature lazy.

She's a Hackney, which is a pretty hot pony breed bred to be high-stepping cart ponies in England.
So even if she wasn't abused, she'd still be hot. But I am hoping she'll settle down. She's only six.
I agree that teaching her to do some of these things without making her suffer might increase her confidence a little. I get the idea because she does the weirdest gymnastics out in the field. Sitting, scratching her ear with her foot like a dog, and these long low stretches when she gets up from a nap. She is flexible enough to do cute performance things.... if I can just get her to do them on command.

Hair; enjoyed the pics of Pony, she is a fine looking hackney. Keeping Bay company is an important job and appears to do be doing it well.
I think she did a great stand in for "Bill the pony" at the beginning of the "Adventures of Flat Frodo". :-)

Yeah, I still have to figure out where we should go! I will be sure to freepmail you my cell phone number and will just plan to have the afternoon and evening free. I'm looking forward to it very much.
