Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Burning disk 3...Cool!
Sword lessons--even clutzy people can learn, LOL! Trust me, I was way clutzy when I started martial arts :) To learn the sword, you break it down into basics. You learn basic ways of moving it and thrusting it first--thrusting is one of the most important skills--along with basic defensive angles which are just basically permutations on a plane. You add in footwork and more complicated stuff later--at least that's how I do it. I'm sure there's different schools of teaching.
So how'd you like the second part of the picture? That's kind of the view of the house I want, though the specifics will be different--the camera angle would have the heroine on the left below the gargoyle looking up towards the house to the right. That's what I have in my mind's eye right now.

Chiming in late here, but...ME is the most evil operating system Microsoft ever released. No contest.

Whew! My last student just left! :-)
Now, I gotta wait for everyone else to leave so I can close but this means I can go sit outside in the warm sunshine and wait for 'em all to leave! :-)
Life is good.
Only one more week of school here after tomorrow!

Even Microsoft is trying to forget they ever released it. By now, they hate it more than anyone else does.

Here's what I scored:
You are 70% geek
You are practically computer-literate, in an almost real sense. This could be a good thing, or a bad thing, depending on whether you use your knowledge for good or for ill. Looking at your answers, I'd say it was almost certainly a bad thing.

Rosie... is it a little odd if, while creating cds, I start channeling Dilandu and shouting "Burn! Burn! BURN!"?
Ok, I finished off disk three, but it's taking so long. I'll finish tomorrow and ship Friday. I just need some anime and an early night.
Last night I loaned the cool sister two manga - volume one of Kenshin and Ranma. Walked in on her just now and she demanded more. I've done my job as an older sib.

Very biased test. I only scored 72, and I'm waaay geekier than that.

Can't wait 'til shipping day! Conversion of Sister progressing well--hey, you ever seen the movie V with the conversion process there? :) This is the manga version :)

But, you aren't out enjoying the warm sunshine are you?
I just got everything locked up except the places where classes are still on-going so now --- I am going out to the north patio to sit and soak up sun. Have all the necesary items to make myself look like a sunbathing tourist out there! :-)

I am pretty sure it is still somewhere in the 80's here now. It was nice and warm today! :-)

I would like to know how much of a geek I am, but the test's javascript doesn't like my browser.

Welll... my boss looks at me strangely when I do the weekly backups. But you have to find your joy where you can.
And you'll understand after you watch Escaflowne.

You know, I'm really like cooking with this diet. It's just enough different to make me have to change my approach a bit, since I can't use sugar or pasta or rice for the moment, but not so different that I can't think of anything to make. Cooking is so much fun anyway, but being forced to think a bit and be creative is a LOT of fun!
Tonight I took boneless chicken breast, cut it in strips, rubbed it with olive oil, cayenne and garlic, and baked it in an iron skillet with a bunch of red bell pepper. Also had steamed broccoli with butter. I have leftovers for having with salad for lunch tomorrow. For dessert tonight I really, really wanted chocolate...so I mixed together about two tablespoons of cream cheese, a dash of vanilla, a packet of Splenda, and about a teaspoon of cocoa powder. Then I dusted it with a tiny bit more cocoa and froze it in a lump on a buttered saucer. Not very elegant, but it did the trick.
Also made turkey roll-up thingies for snacks at work tomorrow - I spread slices of turkey with cream cheese, sprinkled with dill, and rolled them up with a slice of pepper inside. I think those will be good!
