Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Evenin' folks. It's been a vey Corin day...
Gots to work this am to find out I'd forgotten about the retirement luncheon (complete with tropical theme) for one of our division secretaries moving to Florida. Worked out okay 'cause I just gave money instead of the salad I was supposed to bring. I did have to go without my Hawaiian shirt...
At said luncheon got some salad oil of some sort on the tan pants I'm wearing. Kinda bad since we were scheduled to lead worship tonite and I was going straight from work...but wait...
Around 4:00 p.m. wife called and said Jr. has hurt his knee (again). Couldn't put any weight on it. So, as it was too late to see his doctor, she took him on to the ER. Fortunately the snowboarding accident met most of the $300 deductible...
Plan was for us to tag team, she would get Luke and go on to church and lead music. She left Luke home with Nana for a while until we could coordinate. I would meet her at the hospital and stay until Jr. was done.
I had just finished preparations for our bored meeting tomorrow. Had all my information in from the divisions, etc. Was ready to go.
BUT...at 4:45 boss troll came in and changed the agenda. Required a revision in the agenda, a re-stuffing of the packets, editing a powerpoint presentation and burning CD of said presentation and making a photocopy of said presentation for insertion into all the packets.
Tried to call wife, but couldn't get thru as her cell phone is not working. It all goes to voice mail.
Finally she called back on Jr's cell phone from the hospital. They were still waiting to be seen.
She tells me at that point that the new bed for Jr. that was to be delivered today had not arrived. She called the company and they said "we left a message on your cell phone and since we didn't hear back, they scheduled the delivery between 4-7 p.m. today. It's 7:31 as I type this...no bed. (and yes, we did stay up until midnight cleaning his room to prepare for it)
She also tells me that Luke and Nana are stuck upstairs because Nana's chairlift isn't working. At this point, I can't figger it out either. Will have to call the company tomorrow. But will also have to prepare Nana's meals for the day (sound familiar?).
In the meantime I finished the re-preparations for the bored meeting.
Also in the meantime, wife called and bailed us out of leading worship tonite since there was no way we'd make it in time.
Plan was then for wife to stay with Jr., I would pick up dinner for Luke and Nana from Wendy's (easy to figger out what to order).
Got to the Wendy's drive through. Ordered Luke's. Ordered Nana some chicken, a baked potato and a salad.
"It will take 30 minutes for the potato." What?....Nevermind.
Got to the window and started to pay "we don't have any side salads sir..."
I said fergit it and drove off to another Wendy's which added about another 20 minutes to the trip home.
So...I'm home. Nana and Luke are fed (and still upstairs). Chairlift doesn't work. Jrs. bed is not here. Jr. and Mom are still at the ER.
I'm askeered to change clothes. Figger I'll be goin' back out again at some point.
Sigh...I really don't make all this up...

Heh...just another day in Paradise.
We're fine. Just anxious to see what they say about Jr's knee. He injured in in football (last year even I think). But he's been running lately. Prolly not good. Especially since I'm sure he doesn't do the stretching exercises the trainer showed him.
I'm looking forward to a strong beverage, but I need to make sure we're all in for the night first...

Afternoon everyone! - Haven't got caught up yet, but wanted to show off our spring cleaning of the barn.... stripped both stalls down to the rubber and swept it all out.

Clean as a whistle!

Cleaned and put on the horse's fly masks too for the first time this spring...

It's a bummer to wreck knees, because they are never really right again. I wrecked mine twice, once skiing and once on the horse, way back in high school, and that knee is still the first thing that gets tired and aches.

My dad's truck has the service light come on if he really guns it under load, like up a hill.... stays on till he restarts the truck.
If you plugged it in to the computer it might have something to report, but I bet it was a temporary overload like that to all the internal computer thingies.

It's a bummer to wreck knees, because they are never really right again. Tell me about it. Both my knees are bad from old injuries (one a car wreck). Then I messed up the right one again when I fell thru the attic in January. It's not better yet. Chiropractor is actually helping it, but I have good and bad days. My weight doesn't help either.
We warned Jr. that football would destroy his knees. I just hate that it's happening this young (he turns 15 on Monday!)

Ouch. Sometimes I wonder, Corin, if God put you on this planet to make the rest of us realize how easy we've got it. Is your middle name 'Job'?

Corin, if God put you on this planet to make the rest of us realize how easy we've got it. Nah, we don't have it worse than anybody else. We just have our stuff all at the same time.
