Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Posting it to Ramius because he knows her enough to chuckle!
They were trying to get pregnant... or the way she put it a month ago... they weren't trying "not to". It isn't a surprise. She's scared and trying to be excited, Tim is thrilled. He wanted this.
She had bought two potential dresses for my wedding yesterday that she found... Now she worries if they will fit. Not sure when she will start showing, but we may have to buy her a new dress sometime in June to be sure it fits.

I think little kids are cool, and I guess to become little kids they first have to be babies!
Thinking about whether you missed anything....
Not sure... If you are going to disappear for most of the weekend you are going to miss a few mini dramas.

I was bad...yesterday I picked up an inexpensive pedometer. Being inexpensive, it probably isn't AS accurate as some (you can't set the sensitivity, for example), but seemed to keep step with me just fine and the distance we tested it on yesterday was pretty accurate.
The hour long walk I've been doing pretty often is 3.5 miles according to the pedometer. Not bad! It also says I should have burned three hundred and ninety some calories during that walking...but I'm gonna take that with a very LARGE grain of salt.
I may set a goal of twenty miles a week and see if I can do that. It would average to just under three miles a day, which would allow for rain days so long as I did a little walking on weekends.
Did I mention gadgets are cool?

Heh...I'm assuming you're joking, but it IS the modern way!
I get a kick out of how many babies are named things like Mason or Cameron or Dakota...boy or girl. Then there are the cutesy spelling versions of those names...there was a Masin in the paper yesterday.
If I ever have kids, they're getting "boring" old-fashioned names that are definite as to sex...Jospeh or Michael or Mary or Anne...those kind of names.
I'm just no fun, I guess...

I'm with that.... and using spellings that are 'usual' and aren't going to be spelled wrong all the time.
Had another friend that named her baby Brennah. Why the h?

chances are, she won't be showing. However, if she is concerned about it, then she can get the next size bigger dress. *Ususally*, on the first baby, you don't start showing until around 5 or 6 months. On the second baby, though, you never know. With this one, I started really showing around 20 weeks. With elf-boy, I think it was not until the third trimester that he really popped out in front.
BTW, I didn't even buy maternity clothes this time until right before the third trimester. I was showing, but still able to wear my old clothes, for the most part.

I'm old fashioned too. My parents named all of us nice normal names with easy spellings. My kids will probably get the same, unless I should have twin boys, at which point the temptation to name them Castor and Pollux may be overwhelming.
Good morning. I'm sick... I should have gone to church anyway but I also ache all over so I didn't.

which version was it that had a storybook with a record album? (I have it somewhere at my mother's house, if she didn't get rid of all my old records.)

I always read the "new arrivals" section in the paper on Saturdays, just to see the odd names people pick. The winner for this week is Duston...Duston Bumps. Hard last name to begin with, but with that spelling of the first name...makes it even more interesting.
I imagine he'll have a hard time in school. Dusty Bumps.

Went to the first of three weddings in three months last night (you're in the middle position).
Now off to mow the lawn before the weather deteriorates. Then run the dogs. Then back here for about 4 hours of work today.
What's up in the neighborhood?

Teacher in high school named Mr. Barr named his girls Sandy and Candy.
Said if he had a third daughter, he'd name her Crow.
