In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
emetic \ umet'ik\, adjective, noun
emetically; adverb
1. Causing vomiting.
2. An agent that causes vomiting
As bloody as an abattoir, as emetic as a dozen bad oysters, this is a cross between Men In Black and Invasion of the Body Snatchers but without the former's humour and the latter's social punch.
--Philip French, "Dreamcatcher," The Observer, April 27, 2003
Etymology: [Late Latin emeticos, from Greek emetikos, from emetos, vomiting, from emein, to vomit. See wem - in Indo-European Roots.]

Good Morning!
Dick Morris is talking about knives in the back.
Naturally, I thought about a tasteful emetic...
Hillary, It's Now or Never
What a Pair! (Rewrite) John F(something) Kerry,
Now wants to be the boss.
Hell have to team up with someone,
He cant afford to cross.
Im sure we can accommodate,
Whatever we must do.
Hey, John, whos standing there,
To tell you what to do?
He needs a running mate, you know,
Not one who runs from him.
I know someone who wants the job,
Shes used to being them.
Do you remember Hillary?
She of the two for one?
She disassociated fast, I see,
When we learned what hed done.
But she held lots of meetings,
Behind closed doors, they said,
But that is how it should be done.
Dont you like it, being led?
And for the military,
I do not speak to them.
We let them hold the trays for us,
Yard jockeys for the den.
Perhaps thats why she doesnt like,
John Kerry, Viet Vet
He found something offensive there,
Ive a hunch it wasnt Tet.
Shes good at listening,
He likes to talk, I know.
But is there any doubt about,
Which one would run the show?
Could those two work together?
They have some common goals,
But I predict his ship of state,
Would founder on some shoals.
If Kerry has some worry lines,
Upon his fevered brow,
How much Botox would he need,
To smooth it with that frau?
For who could think about his job,
With that shrew at his back?
Dick Morris had a point to make,
And Hillery has the knack.

You can say I'm heretical
But, all this coverage of homo marriage
Is really becoming emetical.

Listening to democrats
Sure makes me feel emetic
If I were on the battlefield
I'd scream, "I need a Medic"
They have no core, no principles
Except for self-promotion
Their only God is Tax and Spend
A singular devotion
They want to trust our safety to
Some UN hacks from France
One wonders if the liberals
Have stones inside their pants

Hi Laura Earl,
Thanks for changing the subject!
Cheers! I thought Id talk today about, a FRiend Ive come to know,
Im sure you know which one I mean, he often steals the show.
He will be celebrating soon, weve heard, a rite that we regard,
As holy in the sight of God, even in ones back yard.
Im talking about marriage, and one particular Guy,
He would have done this long ago, if he were not so shy.
It is a sort of gem he found, specifically, a pearl,
He really isnt royalty, but hell become an Earl.
Yes, hes walking well above the ground, for Laura has consented,
And if he screws things up this time, hell be the late lamented.
But I have confidence in him, hes flown this high before,
Of course this is because of love, and that was playing war.
Hell be much calmer soon, I think, and be his own sweet self,
(When she reflects upon her name, she will become an elf.)
And magic will be theirs, Im sure, and hope it lasts real long,
For we all need a Guy like him, to cheer us with a song.

Actually, Cheers was written yesterday, and Pair dates back nearly a whole month!
I haven't written anything yet today, but I'm sure it won't be an opus...

Morning!
A victim of an open mike
His utterance proved emetic
To honest people everywhere-
Kerry's gaffe may have been prophetic
It should remind us of another man
Whose paranoia made him tick-
Do we really need another president
Who acts like Tricky Dick?
