We started "40 Days of Purpose" today at our church. I liked the fella from Saddleback, but not sure of his Biblical references...seems he chose references from all different types of Bible translations, but none from King James and none from NASB (which is what I prefer) and only a few from NIV. Most of his references came from the Living Bible and from others that I've never heard of.

So I'm starting my 40 days with a healthy dose of caution...and it looks as though I'm the only one AGAIN to have any skepticism...everyone else is gung-ho.

Wife and I got each other the book for Christmas (each not knowing the other had). Haven't started it yet though.

Our Parish is doing Small Faith groups for the season of Lent. SSQ wants to do one, but wonders if we can pick who we want in it. He doesn't want to be arguing with folks every time we get together! LOL!

We start next Sunday... lookin' forward to it... we invited nine of the neighbors to the home study... doubt we'll get more than four tho'... oh well... all we can do is ask... the Spirit takes it from there...
