The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

2J, OT and I sometimes have tea parties right around bedtime here. ;-) We all end up here with a cup of tea.

I should put on a cup. I should still have some Tension Tamer, for that matter, if Bilbo didn't swipe it all...

My brother Bilbo, that is. He hasn't been around the Hole much lately...slacker.

Zelazny is brilliant. In particular I love his Chronicles nf Amber. Definitely, definitely read him.

I've always been of the opinion that whiskey should have a cork in it. Like wine, in a way... just say no to screw-tops... :-)

Long story. Mostly I'm just impatient, and I found out this weekend that I have a long further to go than I thought I did.

I know that feeling. It comes and goes. You're doing fine :)

I just had some tea so I've gotta wait before drinking more, but maybe in 45 minutes or so. Right now I'm actually working out--typing quick between sets, LOL! Back in a few!

Do those have to be read in any particular order?

I went to the bookstore without my author list again today. I shouldn't do that!

And from the library I got a big Wodehouse book and the one Rex Stout book they had that I hadn't read. This is the town library, which I hadn't visited in a longgggg time. I must say their selection is pretty sad...but I didn't ask about interlibrary loan or anything.

The Zelazny "Amber" series, yes, definitely in order. The first is "Nine Princes in Amber". Heh, Prince Corwin is cool...

Hm...our library doesn't have it.

Be back in a sec. There's a cat fight going on somewhere outside (not my cats, obviously!) and Fiona is allll upset...sobbing and pacing, poor little gal. Gotta go comfort her.

The cats, on the other hand, seem totally unconcerned...

Pretty much. The cats outside shut up and Fiona played tug-o-war for awhile and is calmer.

Good! Now maybe you can relax.

Did 1000 words. Now I'm going to read for a while, and go to bed. See you later...

I'm pretty jazzed... just bought one of these today:

For totin' a couple of tons of gravel DOWNHILL to the beach this new wheelbarrow with a DISC BRAKE is gonna be just plain cool. Can load it with way more gravel and make lots more trips per day. Way cool.

Home now. Drove... I stayed safe. Its raining and nasty out. Not as much fun driving unsafe in this kind of weather! :-)

So, how was your day?

The day was uneventful. Which... is good.

Some things I wished to do did not get done. There's always tomorrow.

Hey! I can be a royal pain in two ways now! Can I have a sip of that drink you posted AND borrow your wheelbarrow? :-)

At least if you leave something to do tomorrow you will always know you can *look* busy at work! ;-)
