The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

> Her voice echoes around the empty Hole...come back to me, and say my land is fair!

Your land is fair! :) (I assume that's a quote from something, but I don't know what I'm quoting. I didn't forget some LotR trivia I'm supposed to know, did I?)

I'm back. I see Precious zeroes were spammed while I was out--no fair, I was trying to get those! :)

Good luck to Matthew with his hymns! That's pretty neat :)

Good evening! #8200 was an "honest snaig"... an actual, meaningful single post which happened to land on a Precious. Besides, 2J is like Bombadil, the Precious has no hold on her. ;)

Here's a real spam attack! (not recommended!)

I checked it out--ROFL! Okay, so spamming is not the same as honest snaigging--got it :) But what do you call it if you're approaching an honest snaig and in the process you realize there's a spamming opportunity--is there a technical term for that? :)

Yes, a "sneak"... (like Gollum, always sneaking about...)

To review, a spam is several identical posts attempting to get a Precious; a snaig is a single post to get a Precious (if it's on-topic, then it's an "honest" snaig); and a sneak is several non-identical posts attempting to get a Precious.

Here's a sneak I'm rather proud of!

wow! What a great idea...we should do that here! Nad found a great song in the hymn book from church and wants me to bang it out on our keyboard later...it's not gonna be pretty. This is a substitute for the other "acts of service" song they asked him to sing.

On another "note" :-) we found six eggses today! First time they all layed...and...all in the nest box!

Well, that's all that is going on...G'nad is off picking up the kids from AWANA...I'm supposed to be cleaning up from dinner while baby is sleeping. shhh. He dropped the kids off, came home and we had dinner together by candlelight...sound romantic? We had 20 min to eat it before he had to head out to get them just now! :-)

Take care...mrsnad

Thanks, that clarifies it--LOL!

Very nice! Ah, I'm starting to understand the technique. . . :)

Pretty easy, actually...but on top of everything else, I never got around to helping him that much!

Just play the cassette during the day! He'll learn them in no time and all three of you can sing them together as you're doing stuff; feeding chickens, folding clothes, doing Flylady stuff, etc.

Hullo all! Skeleton crew here postin' today eh? Worked outside all day, spring cleaning downed branches in the yard and frap around the barn.

SAG Awards are on tonight.... Already on if you are on the east side of the continent. RoTK is up for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture - no individual nominations. Don't know who attended.

We are having fajitas tonight.... MMMMM....

Time-Warner cable, by any chance?

On our Time-Warner digital cable, it's in the 100s (channel 170, to be precise.)

Comcast, and I just looked again.... No channel....

I don't think I will see The Passion. I don't want to. I have been reading all the threads about it.... but when it comes right down to it, I have a very low threshold for watching torture. I don't want it in my head. Ecurbh feels about the same way.
