The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I saw her interviewing him. You're right... ick... But, he did an awesome job in spite of her little scoffs.

Breakfast is good for ya! Or so I've been told.
OK, going to go read for fifteen or twenty minutes...or so.

OOOoooo.... there's a goose-bumpie editorial on nascar.com about Dale Sr. approving of Dale Jr. winning yesterday. One of them that makes your hair stand on end. :-)

I haven't been to the Bay Area since I was six. Have you checked out the apartment scene there yet?

Did I tell ya what the guys got me for Valentines Day? They got up early and "took care of the chickens", in other words, they let them out so they wouldn't squawk and wake up the neighbors and they made sure they had plenty of water (it wasn't frozen...a good thing, because that's a hassle). Then they had my coffee and bagel ready by the time I got up!
I just got up! Didn't have to really DO anything. Usually I bust out of bed going sixty!
Then Sunday, Steve found some conversation hearts on sale half price. I love 'em. He bought me two bags. I'm snacking on them now.

Oh, that's so sweet!
I love conversation hearts. I've only had them once this year since I'm trying to be a good little dieter...
Well, I'm going to bed. See you tomorrow!

When our first was about a year old, I had a mom and her son from a playgroup over for a visit. She said she was fixing to start potty training her son, who was the same age as our Paul. She said her Mom told her it would work. I told her SHE might get potty trained, but I doubted that her son would be. I don't think she liked that.
All four of ours trained at different rates, but three years old was the earliest for any of them. Joseph was the slowest. He knew what to do, he just didn't want to do it!

Oh no! I wandered off and you had to leave!
I'm glad you got the OveGlove. One of the sweetest surprises I got from Jill from Germany was a tea kettle. I had the same tea kettle for about 20 years but it finally sprung a leak. After that, I always boiled my water for tea in a saucepan. One day I was talking to her on the phone and pouring the tea from the pan into my teapot. I spilled boiling water on my hand for the 2nd time that week. Myranda took the phone and told Jill it was a burn on top of the other burn. A few days later UPS brought me a brand new tea kettle that Jill had ordered for me through the mail. I was so tickled!!!

I'm a GRITS, and my Mama used to serve beets, but the only ones I ever knew to eat em were her and Daddy. When we got them on our lunch trays at school, I always gave to my cousin who loved them! We did the same with cabbage.
I can eat cabbage now, but only lighty sauteed. I hate the smell when it has cooked too long!
