The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I believe the webhosting service that ecurbh uses is free, and allows mpeg's. Pinging him, because I can't remember the name of his webhosting service! My website hosting service is SRLNet. It isn't free, but it is affordable. Their basic plan is currently $10/month, and offers 200MB of space and 10GB of bandwidth. Luckily, I happened to sign up with them when they were still pretty new, and their hosting was only $4/month, so I get that price as long as I have my account with them.

Corin..what part do you sing? Bass?
I used to sing in my praise and worship group at my old church. I loved it. :) I sing baritone, but the director wanted me to sing tenor. Geesh...It was tough at times! LoL

We'll have to discuss it! Unfortunately, my spring break is week after next, and I'm spending it in Detroit on a business trip. Then I have a few days around Easter, but I'm not sure I want to be away from home at that time.
Your place could definitely be an option... or we could do something sort of in between. Camping in New York, or something... Niagara Falls is a really cool place to take a trip...
Anyway I'm all done with school after May 8, and then my summer should be mostly free until grad school time. So, sometime in June or July would work for me. I think.

Nice website SRL Net has, but in building the website, is it user-friendly? I am not an egghead here. LoL

The ivy I repotted belonged to the secretary at work. She was throwing it away. But, she wanted her pot. Its HUGH! She got tired of taking care of it. An ivy...

Howdy!!
Happy Valentine's Day everybody! [hack] [spit] :-)
To: Ramius
Snow quit fallin' here about 4 this afternoon. But, we've got a pretty good covering of it. Unless we get a nice heat wave it'll be here through tomorrow.
Unusual for Texas. So, it's a novelty to us. Despite the fact that most other Hobbit Holers have this as a normal part of winter. It's been since 2001 since we had a snow.
So, how are you this evening?
Happy Valentines Day darlin' (((Ramius)))

Awww... you're sweet.
What of the rocks? Have you unravelled the meaning of rocks not being good enough? Or did ya do somethin' else today?

Oh, I dunno... the rocks we get are the rocks we get. I think the guy that is going it is good enough to make it right, and also good enough to not try if he knows it won't work. He's very proud of his work.
To: Ramius
the rocks we get are the rocks we getSo, how's dad taking that? Did ya convince him of that too?

What can possibly be sustandard about
rocks?
That reminds me (you'll know it when you see it), I highly recommend "Galaxy Quest" with Tim Allen. It spoofs the entire Star Trek industry, and captures perfectly the atmosphere of SF cons, and fangeeks. It's one of those movies, like "Princess Bride", that's a minor treasure.

Actually, he's of the same mind. He said it first. So... we'll see.
To: Ramius
Well, that's a relief! After what Hair said I thought dad was pretty worked up over the rocks. Kinda sounded like you were not looking forward to dealing with that this weekend. So, that all came out well!
Did you see my photos I posted earlier of the snow in my yard?

What can possibly be sustandard about rocks? Well... I don't really know. Apparently they're all "scarred up"... how's that? they're rocks... and granite at that. Big broken up hunks of granite. The inside looks like the outside.
We'll see. The real bummer is, though, that they think they'll be able to start on Tuesday, and take "a couple of days". I'm gonna be in SFran Tues-Fri. I'll probably miss the whole thing.
To: Wneighbor
Yes, saw the snow pics!! Very cool.
I love it when it snows... 'cept if I have to drive in it, in something not 4wd.
To: Ramius
I didn't have to drive at all. A good thing, not because I don't have 4WD, but because people in Texas are nuts on frozen stuff! Scary!!!
It's been really pretty all day though. Lots of big flakes falling pretty heavily a lot of the day. Just gorgeous!
Flyin' to SF next week huh? So, you're gonna find out why you haven't heard from the boss lately... hmmm...
