The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

It was close. I think we ran right over it. But it was soft and bouncy.

It WAS a good game! Remember how I said I hate football? Well, I still do, but I must admit, this one had me actually sit down and watch it, there toward the end...and I had it pretty well going the whole time I was cooking in the kitchen.
I thought they were both pretty good teams, and we weren't rootin' for either particular one.
They interviewed the coach for the Panthers afterward and he was very graceful. Showed his quality, so to speak.

How were they? I haven't had the mustard ones yet. I haven't either! Probably have some for dinner tomorrow. I've had other brands of mustard sardines and liked 'em.
My usual favorite brand is King Oscar...they're either Scottish or Norwegian, I forget which. Don't have mustard ones, though. I usually get the olive oil ones and dump in some lemon juice...mmmmm!

LOL! I'm just watching that series for the first time. They have the whole thing on DVD at the library here.

I got these Beach Cliff fish steaks at Deals for 50 cents! I bought ten cans.
Steve is using a couple of them to hold the garage door off the ground so it was freeze stuck.

You can always add more tabasco!
Mmmm...tabasco....
I like the green stuff, too. Especially on eggs and potatoes. It isn't as hot, though. Has a different taste.

As far as I can remember the Army has never made a "Dry" tent who needs a tent when yuh got the GORTEX bivvy bag?... That is the single greatest piece of field kit the Corps ever got us... and the only reason we got 'em back in 1995 was cuz the Army was goin' to toss a couple hundred thousand "brand-new-still-in-the-wrapper" bivvy bags cuz they had too much brown in the camo pattern... what a bunchuh maroons... we got 'em fer free...
that bivvy bag is awesome... I've slept in downpours and blizzards in wet gear and woke up bone dry... it's almost better than sex... almost...

Oh no...I suspect he got it...Guineas are lots smarter than chickens, I think...closer to the natural. But if the dog injured it, another predator might have eventually got it too...
Best wishes for a great day of school! Here is my family verse, to encourage the missus...!
"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6

Thanks bro.

I dunno... thechickens lead theguineas around... the guineas cain't figure out how to go around the gate... the guineas have got better survival instincts, and fly up intuh a tree at the first sign of danger... the chickens run fer the coop or under the cedar tree...
thanks fer the verse... we're doin' the Bible in a year fer kids, and a reading from "The American Indian Prayer Guide" every mornin' before we start...

Cabot cheese makes a good, sharp cheddar...and though I don't usually go for flavored cheese, the horseradish is goooood. Clear out your sinuses right quick, too.
