The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Breakfast nachos are simply awesome. We make them up pretty much the same way you'd normally make nachos, except we substitute scrambled eggs, crumbled sausage, chopped green peppers, and crumbled bacon for ground beef, beans, and corn.
Layer 'em up, douse 'em with cheese and bake 'em in the over for 10 minutes. Coat with salsa, and enjoy!

No problem!
Incidentally...Friday IS a special day in a way...because it's the day of the week we set aside to reflect on the Passion in a special way. That's one of the reasons I really try to make Mass that day.

Sounds good!

I was at elf-boy's school today for his Valentine's Day party, and then took him home with me when we left at 11:30. PE had left something at home, so we dropped by there and then headed on to his office. On the way, we talked about what all they did at school, and how much fun he had. Never once did he mention snow.
We left PE's office, and started off for our Friday playdate at Chick-Fil-A. It was snowing on I-635, and on 75. He still had not mentioned snow to me. We called my mother to let her know it was snowing.
He told HER that it had snowed at school while he was on the playground, and that it was snowing "right now" on the way to have lunch. The turkey!

Do you put them on tortillas or tortilla chips, or am I picturing the wrong food?

It's still amazing to me that you guys are getting snow...and it got up to almost 40 here today. Will wonders never cease?
Supposed to be 15 below on Sunday night, though. Guess I gotta enjoy it while I can!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Tortilla chips, fer sure.
The flat, flour tortillas we use when Jess makes her "Mexican Lasagne", where you basically layer up the tortillas, cheese, beef, beans, corn, etc like you would a normal lasagne.
lol...we're big on substitutions here...

The high temp here in Austin today was 35. Had some sleet/snow/drizzle this morning, then it stopped around mid-day. More moisture moving in tonight though, enough that we may actually have some snow on the ground in the morning.
Of course, it's supposed to reach the mid-40s tomorrow, so that snow won't last very long!

It's a rarity that New England has warmer weather than the South!

Heh....you need some hurricanes or ice storms up there...it'll put your power out for a week or more. Heck, that happens, but not on a vast scale, every year to some area around here. My power was off for 21 hours, and most was back within 48 hours. Things were still screwed up for days afterwards. That's why the "three day supply" is about the same as the government's advice on "plastic sheeting and duct tape". Better than nothing, but not much.
A one-week supply of drinking water and food is not much harder to put together than three days. It's very nice, however, to have "flushing water" too. I forgot to thank God for allowing us to have full water pressure, even though we were ordered to boil it before consumption (which turns out was not really necessary). Some areas lost water pressure, and were in a real world of hurt.
As long as you have water for drinking and flushing, your survival is already much easier and more comfortable.

I am amazed too. Elf-boy keeps telling me that it's Christmas again because it is snowing, LOL!
What else is absolutely amazing to me is that the weather dudes keep telling us that it might snow all weekend. My reaction is, "uh-huh...I'll believe it when I see it."
PE is sneaking a nap. Gotta go take Elf-boy to teh store so he can get a Valentine for PE while I still can. Plus, when PE gets up he is gonna be HUNGRY.
later...

I knew the significance of Friday, but you know growing up that just mean we had fish sticks served in the cafeteria on Friday.
If you're willing, I may someday want to take this offline and ask more questions.

Interesting numbers. Quite a drop between 1 and 2.
And I'm #3, pretty darn good considering my schedule these days.
