The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Oops... is that the day before Father's Day? Haven't looked at the calendar but it's not a problem for me.... Might be for others though.

I am a big believer in watching how my animals react to things. I am not sure how long you have lived there now, but do your horses get spooked by some of the stuff or spook in certain areas?
I am sure it isn't anything to be concerned about or you would know in your knower...know what I mean?

I'm with winmag on this... the barrel was a stash...
you neutralized the threat quite well imho...

Hey! I think you need to get a metal detector!

LOL
To: g'nad
I agree but that isn't as interesting as a body in barrel theory

I agree but that isn't as interesting as a body in barrel theoryYeah, but from g'nad's point of view the "stash" might have been a body! ;-)
Tommy G. accused me of hiding a body in an old hot water heater he helped me cart off one time. He thought I hid bodies in my junked appliances.

well folks, thanks fer yer prayers... just got word from the VA... they have decided, in their infinite wisdom, that I am indeed really broken, and have granted my claim more generously than I could've hoped...
now that the door is opened, all that is required is another round of paperwerk that will move at a snails pace... but we're seein' progress...
the irony is, I rate concurrent receipt, as approved and signed last October... but DoD has yet to publish guidance as to how to apply fer it... nice... so I'll just have tuh wait...
thanks friends...

Tell Mugs and Bilbo Bagpipes I said"Hello." ;^) I'll do that! They miss you guys!

If the horses were to step on footing that didn't feel right.... like garbage, they would spook and blow and not go there. They don't seem overly spooky anywhere now.. There isn't an area they refuse go in just from some sixth sense they might have ('cept where it is still overgrown)
We ~really~ had the creeps when we found a junkpile that had hair and clothes in it. We were already creeped out, and I picked up some of the hair and held it up, and we just looked at each other. We thought we had found something bad because there were large trash bags with "something" inside that was buried, not just laying on top of the ground. Was > < that close to calling the sheriff. we thought.... well, if nothing else, they would come and dig it all up for us looking for microbes and what-not! But.... with more poking around the hair turned out to be bristles from a big horse-hair paintbrush.

We misses them, too. Tell 'em to be around more. Doesn't Bilbo have internet access?
Are you reading the intro to Princess Bride? Because you can skip it... I recall he went on forever about nothing...
