The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

You need those Cold EZE, girl!! They work like a charm. Even if you've already got the cold, they seem to work on minimizing its effects.

Kilt it you did.
I'm here, but I'm being traumatized by the fact that this will be the first week since mid-December (pre-Trilogy day) that I've worked all five days...okay that I've been in the office all five days.
I need a vacation.

As much as I don't want to think about not being there, I'm seriesly thinking I just won't be able to make Wedding-moot.
But with sending Jr. on choir tour and to Brazil and wife to Slovakia (don't worry, I've said they both could come back), And with my assuming a role as an officer on the alumni board at reunion I'll have to be in Kentucky in late June, I'm just gonna be vey short on cash as well as time.
Of course if Hair and ecurbh wanted to get married on a different beach, I have connections in Nags Head...

SPICEY POTATO SOUP
2 Tbsp. Oil
8 cloves fresh garlic, minced
1 cup finely chopped onion
3 med. Tomatoes, peeled and chopped
(or a can of chopped tomatoes)
½ cup chopped green chiles (sm. can)
1 Tbsp. Flour
2 quarts hot chicken broth
2 ½ cups peeled raw potatoes, cut into cubes
2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
½ tsp ground red pepper
2 med. Carrots peeled and thinly sliced
1 med zucchini thinly sliced
2 cups Montery Jack Cheese, cut into small cubes
Heat oil in 3-quart saucepan and add garlic, onions, tomatoes and green chiles; saute for 3 min.
Stir in flour and cook for 2 more minutes. Continue stirring as you pour in the hot broth. Add potatoes, salt and pepper. Cover pan and simmer over low heat for 20 min. Add carrots and zucchini and cook for 15 min longer or until potatoes are tender. Before serving, put the cubed cheese in bowls and put the soup on top.
