The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Also talked to Daisy this morning. I have never talked politics with her before. I asked her if she voted, she didn't. Asked her if she thought she was conservative... She had to ask her coworker if she was conservative or liberal.
I just wanted to slap her upside the head. How could she not know?

Shucks, I really woulda liked to have wneighbor meet my folks. Oh well!
Say, what exactly is the basic schedule?
OH! Speaking of allergies (and we were, wern't we?) I'm allergic to hairspray and perfume. I can deal with them ON people but it's when it's in the air around them that gets me. I'm allergic to cigarette smoke too, but not to the extent of the hairspray and perfume. I can sit at a table with a smoker and have no trouble. But if someone sprays their hair, I'll be sicker than a dog in five minutes! LOL

So if anyone needs to spray their hair, just let me know and I'll vacate the area till it settles. Once it settles, I'm fine.

I'm bummed!! I was trying to wash the crud out of my Aim High mug. It rebelled and jumped for it. The cold hard cruel floor interrupted it's run for freedom.

That sneak prolly cost you about 20 minutes on your allotted internet time!
We are doing fence today, gotta run to town for supplies. See everyone later!

awww. Aimed a little too, he did.
To: 2Jedismom
I'm allergic to perfume too! And I can't very well abide hairspray either! That was tough being raised in a family of beauticians! :-)

LOL It's why I didn't ever try to be a beautician.
I used to warn them not to use the hairspray around me when I was in high school plays. The drama coach always scoffed, until dress rehearsal and they commenced spraying right around me and I ended up having a major attack, eyes watering, nose swollen shut (and for some reason, my chin always itches!) From then on I had to come in early to get into makeup so I could be done and gone before anyone started spraying!
That worked fine.

Usually when Grama started spraying I would go outside... or in the house. A little from across the room didn't bother me - but when I was a kid in the 60's and 70's some of them wimmin with bouffant hairdos required half a can of spray! haha... That's why I could never look like Dolly, just couldn't have that much hair spray. that and one other prominent reason I couldn't look like Dolly! LOL

Well, after our chat Saturday, I went to ROTK on Sunday. Except for a few ignorant audience members, the main reason I don't go to concerts or movies anymore, beside being too lazy and too broke :^), I mostly enjoyed it (LOVED finally hearing a proper Nazgûl wail/shriek at Minas Morgul!). I still don't like some deletions (I know some are necessary) and most changes - for example, the pointless dumb bastarding around with Arwen through the 3 movies proved pretty empty and futile in the end, didn't it? If that's a sample of his judgment, then it's a damn good thing Jackson had so many wonderful technicians working for him!
Do you think anyone who hadn't read the books would wonder why a small group of our heroes went to Isengard at the beginning of this one? Surely not to pick up a couple of spare hobbits...

My mom had a bouffant, I think she switched to the Dorothy Hamel when we found out I was allergic.
I had to take shots and the whole nine yards.

What's the schedule?
I'm trying to work out some finer details.
To: 2Jedismom
LOL... at least your mom figured it out! Mine thinks its all in my head! She wears the most attrocious perfume you can imagine. And always used a lot of hairspray. Used to come in my room in the mornings after I was dressed and spray aerosal perfume on me too! I was always having allergies and taking Dimetapp when I was a kid but she never bothered to change anything that I would tell her made me ill! Still says it's all in my head! Gave my kids perfume all the time as gifts and told them to ignor me and use it!

My schedule is just to go with the flow! I'm picking up PQ at 11? Driving in.... will call MBY's cell phone when I get close. Meet you at the motel and go to the concert. Then hang out for the rest of the time.
Is that a good schedule?
