The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I don't remember the part about them trying to send chocolate by TV waves, but it's a good idea! :)

That's the part when the annoying Mike TeeVee decides he wants to be sent through the TV also, turns the thing on, and comes out the other side about 6 inches tall.

Day is shaping up to be beautiful warm and sunny here. I'm thinking in an hour or so I'm throwing open all the windows to air the place out!!!

I need some sun to take away the white pasty look I've had for the last couple of months! And to make me feel about halfway human again. :-)

Wow! When was the last time I was here? Yesterday morning? I got to log on to get my freepmail now and then but that was IT! What a day!

First I took Joshua to school, then I rushed back home and Matthew and I worked the whole time Josh was gone on school (except for lunch). Then I went to pick up Josh and then I had to run into downtown Tulsa to get the check book from Steve and a deposit to put in the bank.

I found a new post office! In the back of a little trinket shop! Quaint little shop full of chicken decor! Anyways, that's where I mailed the Hobbit Hole care packages to Georgia and Afghanistan...there was just one woman working in there and no line at ALL! The woman was very sweet and complimented me on my knowledge of the way to package for Afghanistan.

My ladies that I made the cookies for at the Ace Hardware post office are gone...they shut down that branch when the Ace went out of business. So I'm glad to have a nice quiet out of the way place to go...the one here where I live is always so busy!

Then I had to copy off two more pictorial directories for my homeschool ladies...and the copy place had closed down! I was all in a panic trying to find another place to get them copied...I called Celeste and she saved the day, told me a place near where I was driving to have them copied.

Then I went to buy groceries and met several of my friends in the store! We had a nice visit right there in the aisle! That was kinda fun (and reminded me that I really don't want to ever move from this area!)

After leaving the store, I dashed by a friend's house to give her the pictorial directories, since I wasn't gonna make it to the CHEF meeting. That took FOREVER because she's such a sweet person that I just have to sit there and chat for a while! LOL She gave me a dozen farm-fresh eggs!

We got home and it was already late for supper...I thew some chicken leg quarters in the oven and remembered the bank deposit I HAD to make. The bank was gonna close in half an hour (7pm!) and so the jedis and I jumped in the car and dashed to the bank. WHEW! Got that done.

Got home and warmed up a can of chicken and dumplin's for the boys...I was too exhausted to eat! By the time I got the boys fed, bathed and in bed (I read a chapter of Hardy Boys to 'em even!) I was so exhausted! It was time for NYPD Blue and Steve came home. After watching that, Steve went to bed, I took a bath then went to bed and literally COLLAPSED! I went to sleep instantly.

So, that's why I was playing hookey from the Hole all day yesterday!

Now today, I have to get ready for the Houston Moot! But we're skipping Awanas tonight to prepare.

MBY: We should be at the camp ground by noon on Friday.

"I'm trying to build a romantic subplot into the novel I'm writing in order to make it more interesting for female readers"

Well, if you can actually figure out what interests "female readers," or really what interests just females, as opposed to what females want males to think interests them, you will be doing pretty good.

Morning everyone.

Good morning, Sam! How are ya? I got a headache and the room is spinning a bit faster than usual, but the day is sunny, the coffee is good and I'm very optimistic about the future!

:-D

I'm in a pretty good mood, 2J, good morning.

Is your head spinning related to your ear thing?
Hope it goes away soon.

Heard last night that one of the guys' wives was having elective surgery done on her knee last week and things went wrong. Somehow the doctors managed to permanently screw up her vision while working on her knee. Apparently she suffered a loss of the lower third of her viewing field. Something to do with the anaesthetic, I believe.

Sometimes I wonder about hospitals.

LOL! I have no delusions of ever figuring that out (ducking flames) :)

That's right...vertigo related to whatever happened to my hearing right before Joshua was born. I always have some degree of it in the morning when I get up, some days it's hardly noticeable...I'd say most the time. But somedays it's a bit of an adventure to walk and there are the rare days when I feel very sick because of it. Fortunately, it passes pretty quickly.

I think it must relate to the way my head is during the night...I can't tilt my head backward, like to look up, without feeling a bit off.

I tell ya, Sam...I would never go under anesthesia without a very VERY good reason...that stuff is really dangerous. Just your body trying to recover in the "recovery room" is a major thing.

When my mom had her surgery (where they put everything back where it belongs, if you know what I mean)...they did a spinal. She was awake the whole time.

Somehow Happy day, and Icky day don't seem synonymous.

G'morning!

Sometimes I wonder about hospitals.

They can be dangerous places.

I have a prayer request. The husband of a friend who I haven't seen in a while was fired the day before yesterday from his job as a surgeon in a Boston hospital. He arrived for work drunk one day last week. Fortunately he did NOT operate that day, but they fired him(and rightfully so). I really feel bad for his family. He obviously needs help because he did this before at a local hospital a few years ago. I think this time they yanked his license.

So if you could remember him , my firend and their kids in your prayers I would really appreciate it. He needs to get a BDG, and so does she!

Have you thought about changing pillows? I use a buckwheat pillow; take it with me when I travel, and everything. I get a horrible crick in my neck and pains in my left shoulder if I sleep on anything else!
