The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Well, I neglected a bunch of things here today too but it was worthwhile. At least I have got some fudge made for the troops! And boxes packed to mail them soon.

hehehehe....
Austin Powers is one of the only movies where I enjoyed the sequel more than the original.

You have to confess before you get penance - right?

Awesome, yes. Conveys great awe. And awful - awe-full, rather. Also wonderful - fills me with wonder. Words sometimes don't have the right means. Sometimes a picture can help.

I was impressed, but also, as I said, felt like I couldn't take it in. I was emotionally numb rather early on. I want to watch it again when I'm a bit more prepared.
It's obvious that a lot of reverence and thought went into the making of the film. And though so many people spoke out against using Aramaic and Latin, I felt like that made a difference in bringing you into the story - didn't have American or British accents to get in the way, if you know what I mean.
Hard to watch, though. Edifying, but not enjoyable.

What about the earlier part? The "Eowyn of Rohan, I say to you that you are beautiful" part? Can I read that, too?Hmmm--these sound like awful light penances to me. Shouldn't Rosie also have to eat only lembas bread for a while or something?
To: Fedora
Well, I'm guilty of the same sins, so I won't be too harsh on her.
Of course, she is claiming Sam... and unless she's into polyandry that means her claim on Faramir is null and void...

But then if we wanna get technical, Faramir is taken, too.
I prefer not to dwell on that. ;-)
