Hi everybody!
Good to see you Spooky; we need you around here so come back soon.
The Friendly Sky
Had to catch a plane the other day
things didn't go so fine
must have been a hundred people
ahead of me in line.
Late was I as it was --
impatient I was becoming,
the worst part was I needed
to use the airport's plumbing.
Sitting across the way was a woman
with a child on her knee
he screamed the whole darn trip
my head hurt so much I couldn't see.
Down the aisle comes the stewardess
with a plate that had my dinner
how did they expect me to eat it
boy, that flight was a real winner.
Then this guy in front of me
decides to go to sleep,
so he whacked the button next to him
and in my lap landed his seat.
I felt like I was a sardine
being stuffed into a can
the sky didn't feel so friendly
I couldn't wait to land.
I had a new set of luggage
when I started on that trip
now they look like they
came off a battleship.
Is this what they mean when they say
fly the friendly skies?
Next time I think I'll take my car
I don't know about you guys.

Good Afternoon, Victoria.
I'm wrapping Christmas presents. Did I see a poem the other day about letting the dept stores do the wrapping next year? If I continue to buy for great-nieces and great-nephews, I should hire someone to do the wrapping. LOL
When I need a break, I come by to see who has been here.
Did Saber write any Christmas or winter poems?
Time to go wrap one more. See you a little later.

Hi Amy! You know, wrapping means that you have finished buying presents, and that's good. I can't imagine shopping during these last days, it's crazy out there!
I don't know about Saber, I think he is in Africa hunting some exotic animals. LOL!!!

I hope Saber isn't hunting tigers! Unless it is with a camera.

I'm finished shopping except, I still need to do the grocery thing.
My tree is in the house but without ornaments. We plan to do that tonight.

I decorated my tree last week. It was a lot of fun. Anyway, I'm glad you're around so we can talk from time to time. :-)
Easy for me to say...

I'm going to brave the grocery store crowd. Should be much easier than trying to go during the week.
I'll see you in a couple of hours.

I'm baack
It wasn't too bad but we decided to run into a Target store to get some stocking stuffers. Couldn't find anything. They had re-arranged the store so I wandered around like a lost puppy.
The crowd was not bad; only two people in front of me at the checkout.
It surprised me that so many people were doing their grocery shopping. When we raised turkeys, I would go in a couple of days before Christmas and the entire city was there. The crowd was about the same 5 days before Christmas.
I thought you and Spooky would be playing music for us by the time I came back.
Anything happen while I was away?

Well, I've been in and out wrapping more presents and posting whenever I wanted to take a break. I noticed that Spooky didn't return, she is probably busy.

Too many have forgotten the Reason for the Season. Many don't even know we exchange gifts to honor and celebrate the birth of Christ, and the gifts of the Magi to him. Sadly, too many think of Christmas as a secular holiday, and there are those who don't want to even admit that the holiday is religious in nature. For those who still remember the truth of Christmas, I wish all the best to you and yours. Peace of the Season to you all, and may you find joy in every moment, every smile.
Trike
Christmas
White time,
bright time,
with lights draped with loving care.
Tall trees,
green trees,
topped by Angels one and all I say.
Children laugh,
parents laugh,
in wonder at the spirit there.
Church bells,
silver bells,
ringing out the joy of Christs day.
Songs raised,
with hopes raised,
gentle souls reach for others with a smile broad and whole.
Snow down,
drifting slowly down,
covering the earth as if a new world at prime.
Stars shown bright,
childs eyes so bright,
lighting the way into every soul.
Its a Birthday party,
an all souls party,
remembering Jesus on this, his special time.

That was very pretty.
We could dedicate it to our military.
I don't remember ever hearing that song. Thank you for posting it.
