Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

You're makin' me homesick...or basesick...or whatever.
I miss German food, big time. Wish we had authentic German restaurants around here. I miss jager schnitzel, or a lot of different kinds o' schnitzel, for that matter. And being able to buy a wonderful, wonderful greasy bratwurst mit brotchen from a vendor in just about any town.
My mouth is watering!
OK, now for that cocoa...

Yes, she sent Belgian stuff once. I liked it better.
Thing is, I just don't eat *that* much chocolate. And I wish she'd quit sending it.

Eeek!
Bratwurst! America can NOT Americanize that particular kind of food. You have to go to Germany for that kind of delicious, yummy-to-my-tummy food! ...I best stop talking about it, eh? I just wish there was an authintic restuarant here in town as well...:(

I can get to this point...should I continue?
I'm gonna call...
Recovering the system without using Windows
1. Disconnect all peripherals and internal non preinstalled devices from the PC, except the monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
2. Turn on the computer.
3. When the initial blue HP screen appears, press the F10 key repeatedly until a recovery menu appears. The progress indicator that first appears does not indicate that a recovery is taking place. The progress indicator represents the time before the recovery process is started.
4. When the Recovery screen appears, click Next, and then click Yes to perform a normal, non-destructive recovery.
5. To perform a destructive recovery, click Advanced, and then click Yes.
CAUTION: A destructive recovery will format the hard drive. This will delete all the information on the hard drive and reinstall Windows XP and the original software that came with the computer.
6. After the System Recovery is complete, and the computer starts successfully, update the computer software as follows:
a. Update the system virus definitions.
b. Get the latest critical system updates using Microsoft's Windows Update.
c. Update the HP software on the system.

I also miss really fresh, made-at-that-restaurant sauerkraut. I know a lot of people can't stand the stuff, but I love it.
To: Wneighbor
Gonna bring any?
To: JenB
At this time two days from now, some of us may be thinking "what on EARTH have I gotten myself into???"
Nah...this is gonna be a hoot!
To: 2Jedismom
In my experience, this form of "system recovery" will reformat your hard drive and take your system back to the way it was when you first took it out of the box.
In other words, your data will be gone-gone-gone.
This is not the same as "system restore."
I'm still looking for diags ...
To: RosieCotton
Oh, yeah...
And you have reinforcements. People to help when the going gets crazy.

How about a Flat Eowyn?
Though that's an incongruity if ever there was one.
To: JenB
I'm not on anybody's side... because... nobody's on my side... hrrroooom.
Maybe I should go dive into the immigration threads with that? What think? :-)
