the kids all put a big rock in the fireplace (like the size of a football, in the evening, and when it was time to go to bed, they would wrap the hot rock in a towel or blanket and take it to bed with them.

At the old house Myranda and I would each keep a brick on the space heater and when it was time for bed we wrapped it in a towel and put at the foot of the bed. And that was *with* the electric blankets!

Silly of me I know but sometimes I kinda miss that. Even though the heat stays on in the house here it was kinda cozy having that nice footwarmer. I wouldn't trade wanna *have* to do that again though!

there would occasionally be ice in the toilet and the bedrooms were NOT toasty.

I know it doesn't fit the nice warm concept of Texas, but at the old house I would occasionally have to deal with water freezing in the toilet. More often than that though, I would find the water in my water glass beside my bed would have ice in it by 3 or 4 in the morning. I usually need a drink of water in the middle of the night - but in that kind of cold I never liked *ice* water!

Still, I miss the old place. It was VEY homey - if I ever go back though, that house will be demolished and a new one *with* heat will be built!

Too bad that middle pic isn't slightly higher quality, it would make a good desktop image for a couple days...

Actually I think the "sad puppy look" from RotK would be good for that.

Wife just called and says she's managed to "lose" all her tool options on Microsoft Outlook. Says there's no option to add or remove toolbars under "view."

I'm sure I could fix it if I could see it. But any suggestions what I need to tell her?

Use a real email program? /smartalec

Any chance she's run afoul of the Microsoft 'smart' menus, where they hide the options that haven't been used for a while?

She may not be clicking on the two little arrows - where Microsoft hides options that haven't been used for awhile.

She should also be able to right-click on the menu somewhere and select the menus she wants...Standard, probably.

And we won't mention what we did to them before sending them back

Long the shoes of power fell, through fire and water unto the uttermost foundations of stone. Darkness took them. And they strayed out of thought and time. Stars wheeled overhead and every day was as long as a life-age of the earth. But it was not the end. They felt life in them again. They've been sent back until their task is done. And they come back to you now at the turn of the tide. Might be needing some of that purifying still too.

You know, that would never have happened if you lived in Florida!

Depends on WHERE in Florida! I remember it getting 13 degrees a couple of days when we were living in Tallahassee! It was so cold in our office that we couldn't type! We sat on our hands most of the day. Two walls of our building were glass, and I don't think it was the insulated kind!
