Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

He's 8 now...he was maybe almost 7 when he told his teacher that...
They actually had to fill out a paper that said how they could help out around the house. Matthew raised his hand and asked "How do you spell Osama Bin Laden?" and his teacher said "Why?" and he said "Because I'm gonna GIT him!"
His teacher suggested helping his dad with the yard work which was ok with him too. When I came to pick him up, she took me aside and told me the story and was just cracking up.

Okay, my students are working. More photos!
This is a cool one of Ruthy's daughter Rebecca at the beach with ksen's son Josh in the background.
Here it seems like g'nad and ramius must be having a really important discussion????
And this would be g'nad and OT during the viewing of Casablanca I think.

heh heh heh... my kinduh kid...
the Marines need computer guys, but they mainly do tactical networks and stuff... the Navy done contracted all the stateside network and software support out to civilians...
I was explainin' to thegirl winmags post about the Clintons destroyin' tens of thousands of old service rifles instead of sellin' 'em to law abidin' taxpayers... thegirl responded, "That's nuts! Stinkin' communists..."
To: g'nad
LOL!! We have got to arrange something with these two! Matthew shouts at the TV "You don't know nothing, you're a DEMOCRAT!" whenever he sees a political ad on TV.

My parents love this guy on TVLand. Thing is..when the show was on back in 70's? They hated him and the show!! Go figure.

We never missed an episode of
All In The Family in my house ... and, yes, my father often agreed with Archie, and found Meathead a dead bore .... Daddy didn't approve of freeloaders.
We watched The Jeffersons, of course, and Good Times, but we also enjoyed Maude.

Good for you, starting him off now. I have a very quick pace at the keyboard, but my fingers go everywhere.... not typing the 'right' way, but hey, it gets the job done.

I got up this morning and made Joshua a lunch as usual, consisted of a peanut butter sandwich cut on an angle...a little packet of fresh carrots, a little container of mandarin oranges, a box of apple juice and an Andes mint.
Got to school and remembered that it was "McDonalds Day" so I left his lunch in the car. At lunchtime, he had a chicken nugget happy meal with fries and a coke. Got a nifty toy.
Picked him up then swung by the thrift store and found the ice cream maker. Then, on the way home, I noticed he was very quiet and realized that he was in his seat, eating his lunch I packed him! I said "Josh! Didn't you eat your happy meal?" He said he ate every bit of it, but it wasn't enough! So I told him to wait till we got home to finish eating (we were close, anyway)...
We came in and he sat down and polished off every bite of his lunch that I'd made him! Ha!
If you look closely in the ice cream freezer picture, you can see him sitting there eating.
Oh, if only Matthew weren't such a picky eater!

What pleases me most is that he looks at the screen and not at his fingers sometimes...not most the time, but just sometimes...he knows where the primary keys are...asdf and jkl. He hasn't ever had to use ; yet.

Okay, back to fun. More photos now. Until I get students here again.
Here's Ramius on the beach. Looks like he's enjoyin' himself! (It's the beer.)
And here's pretty Miss Ruthy on the beach too!
And now we have OT sitting out on the patio.
