The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Hmmm... funny that. I've had one really good romance, and it turned out to be the worst relationship ever.

I'm sorry to hear that. My whole thing didn't turn out great. I mean, he isn't here anymore. But, he isn't alive anymore and his illness didn't exactly leave him in a condition where I should hold a lot against him. But, I did for a long time.

There was just so much good in what we had together that I want to remember the romance. I mean, I dunno if I'll ever have that again. And it is worth a lot to me that I did have it for several years. I may be fooling myself but I really believe that if he hadn't developed the medical condition that he did we would still be together and we would still have the same kind of romance in our lives that we always did. I might be wrong. But, I'd rather not think that way. Dennis was the kind of romantic husband that had every woman at my workplace green with envy! I *really* liked that. :-)

Naw "the swarm" was just a misunderstanding. The Moderator changed his decision after some explanation.

Well, I haven't had either, so I'm sulking tonight.

I didn't meet the love of my life until I was at least half again your age. Then, of course, she squashed me like a bug.

So... cheer up! :-)

Prayers MBY!

And hug. Let us know how the surgery and chemo goes. I hope she is one of those who tolerate it well. We are pretty good at breast cancer.... Keep more hope than worry.

It is not safe. But that makes it interesting!

My Mamma had "organic brain syndrome," but was still aware enough to know she didn't want to be in that nursing home. She would walk and walk and walk ... sometimes 18-20 hours a day. She walked away from the home at least once, and told me she was looking for a bus she used to catch to go home. She wanted to go home so badly ... but she was living in the past, and the "home" she wanted was long gone.

If I had it to do all over again, I'd do the same thing. I live in Austin; her life and the rest of the family were in San Antonio. I couldn't've cared for her; she wouldn't've let me. She alternated between seeing me as a contemporary and seeing me as some brand of enemy. Being an only child, it would have all been on me ... and I don't think I could have handled it.
