The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

The quiz was definitely weighted toward computers, games and fiction. some of the stuff, I had no earthly idea about.

I guess I'll give ole Schrodringer a pat, and go to the next one.

Aw, but see...that's the beauty of being a true "geek"...we can't be bothered to go OUTSIDE and do anything! lol

I'm kidding, of course.

I thought I was going to do poorly, as there were a lot of science/programming/physics related questions.

Luckily, my more nerdy teen years gave me an edge.

Interesting story, believe it or not!

When we were cleaning and getting ready to move, I came across a box that I didn't even remember having at the condo. In it, was my 3 volume D&D Monstrous Compendium, Fiend Folio, Dungeon Masters Guide, a velvet satchel with assorted multi-sided die, various pieces of graph paper with dungeons and mazes drawn on them, about a dozen character/villan sketches, and 4 of my old characters (including Malgonok, my level 16 Mage!). I hadn't seen ANY of this stuff in at least 13 or 14 years...it was a wicked trip.

The urge to stop packing, call up my old friends, get a case of Mountain Dew, get a retainer, and have a marathon D&D session was about all I could bear. Jess didn't want to play, and unfortunately, Autumn is just far too little...lol

I was seriously bummed out the rest of the day...burdened by this oppressive case of nostalgia.

Heh..I like the one with the Iraqi WMD's on Mars...People are having too much fun with Mars..mmmm..It's Mars Fever, fer sure.

I took the geek test and said I was a poser. LOL I am not a geek, I guess. Oh well.

Speaking of Mars, whatever happened to the first little Rover back in '97? Batteries died and it's a permanent fixture of Mars?
