The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

one was when Mystique is scrolling through the computer files, and every name displayed is the "civilian" name of a mutant that has appeared in the comics

Tell me about it! When I saw the name "Remy LeBeau" right above "Erik Lensherr", I turned to Jess and said..."How much do you want to bet that Gambit will be in X-3?" Of course, she just looked at me like I had two heads, smiled, and said "Yes honey". lol

Did you also notice that on Stryker's computer, he had a desktop folder labeled "Muir Island"? Perhaps that's a little "easter egg" regarding the plotline for X-3?

I guess next one will be either wedding moot or midwest moot. Details will hopefully follow soon

Please, keep me on any ping lists for that...I'm 100% committed to making the next one!

What's a MUDSLIDE (Besides the freaky weather related accident)

Oh Lord, yer a deprived Hobbit. Mudslides are a heavenly desert using brownies and ice cream. Only available in TX.

It must be a regional thing...I've always known Mudslides to be Kaluah blended with chocolate ice cream, and served with whipped cream and a cherry?

Perhaps a play on words of the old saying:

"Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies."

'Bake me a chicken' kind of rhymes with 'Ask me no questions'.

When I saw the name "Remy LeBeau" right above "Erik Lensherr"

I liked the sub-menu that popped up when she scrolled over "Guthrie", with the two items "Paige" and "Samuel". Some of the other names appearing on that list were Xian Coy Mahn, Danielle Moonstar, and Maximoff (presumably with a sub-menu to list Wanda and Pietro). I love being able to view DVDs in slow-motion!

Did you also notice that on Stryker's computer, he had a desktop folder labeled "Muir Island"?

Oh yes! As well as folders named "Project Wideawake" (will the Sentinels appear in X3?) and "Franklin Richards" (!!).

Glad to hear everyone is off okay ksen. (I miss my shoes).

Got quite a bit done in the attic. We were being very productive, J was cooperating getting things down that will be hauled to the dump. All was going well...until I fell thru the ceiling in J's room.

(I'll pause here until the laughter subsides)

It was quite bizarre. Our attic doesn't have a real floor, but has plywood over the rafters...in most places. I was picking up a stack of stuff to hand to J, turned and I guess I just put my foot down in the one spot that I'd managed to avoid all day. I'm not 100% certain that I didn't black out first. I don't remember the fall and it took a couple seconds to realize what happened. But that was more likely the shock of the fall.

Didn't fall all the way thru (I don't think there's a section on me that's less than 16 inches wide). But I did significant damage to the ceiling. Wife and J cleaned up that and the insulation. I'm going to tape plastic over it before he goes to bed.

As far as I can tell I'm not seriesly injured. Although my right side is sore from my shoulder down to my feet. And I twisted my knee pretty badly...but that's my bad knee anyway.

And in the continuing saga of how the fun never ends at Castle Stormhands, Nana is scheduled for hip replacement onf February 3. This is a good thing. Won't be pretty getting thru it, but it should solve multiple issues.

Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Holy cow... you think you may have blacked out? Did you hit your head?

No, didn't hit my head. I don't remember the time from when I turned around until I was trying to get back up. But it could have been just the quickness of everything.

Then again, I'm fighting a cold and taking Drixoral and I have blacked out in the past when doing that (but it's been years)

Man, rest up and take it easy for a bit... hope you don't develop any serious aches & pains from your experience!

Thanks. Pizza just got here, so I'm gonna do just that.

Course we're going to a major black-tie fundraiser tomorrow night for Senator George Allen. Wife accused me of falling just so I wouldn't have to dance with her.

Funny thing is, I missed a date with her in college 'cause I broke my leg.

OMG CORIN!!

I'm glad to hear you're still in one piece. Sheesh! You should have stayed at Entmoot until the end. :-)

Oh, and don't worry about your slides. They are taking a "vacation". *wicked laugh*

As everyone can see, I made it home and have been so busy getting the kids straighted out that it took this long for me to get online and type a 3 sentence post!

I'll be back later (if'n I don't fall asleep) to make sure I see everyone else check in.

I had a wonderful time meeting you all in RL and I cannot wait to meet the rest of this lovely group.

One week was too short a time to spend with such fine and estimable Hobbits!

Good Grief. Corin, you're a lucky dwarf not have been folded, spindled and/or mutilated with that fare-thee-well. Glad to hear you're mobile and somewhat lucid, thank the Lord for that.

That is good news about Nana's hip. PBS did a special on hip replacement surgery some years back. Fascinating procedure.
