Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

Monday, November 3, 2003

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

More to the point, Air Marshalls travel "undercover". Staging an "ordinary" disturbance which would get the Air Marshall involved would allow the terrorists to identify the Air Marshall so that they could then neutralize him unexpectedly later in the flight (or as you point out, while he's distracted by the original disturbance and focusing on that).

That's exactly what I was thinking. What a simple way to draw out the undercover marshall.

If anything, this should underscore the fact that an air marshall is not the end-all, be-all line of defense that we have on a passenger jet. It's my firm belief that we need to arm as many pilots as we can. To those who don't think you can't trust a pilot with a gun: you're not making any sense, because you have already put your life in the pilot's hands if you fly. I guarantee you that pilot could hurt a lot more people on the plane by mishandling the jet instead of mishandling the firearm.

On a related note, for those who enjoy the Mythbusters show on Discovery Channel, you may want to watch the new episode this Sunday. Apparently the myth that they will be testing is that a bullet hole will depressurize the plane at 30,000 feet. Should be interesting.

And last night was a little eerie....there was a flight ban from sometime New Years Eve to after the Rose Bowl game had finished. It is amazing how quiet it is without all those planes and helicopters flying all around. I left a party around 1am, walked outside, and the only thing I could hear was the faint roar of 2 F-16s doing a track between Chino and Manhattan Beach.

===

I've read a couple of authoritative articles on that, I don't have the link and it's too late for me to go searching for it. But it showed that with bigger holes than a few bullet holes the plane can still land. But if I catch the mythbusters show, it should be interesting.

Las Vegas Dave said, The Luxor photo in question is an older shot, 2 or 3 (??) years ago Luxor added the lights on the edges of the pyramid.

texasbluebell said, Aha. Interesting, so an older photo. Not one readily found now, at least I haven't seen one in searching. So they probably took it a while ago, in that case.

And before 9/11, several of the terrorists spent time in Las Vegas. Over 2 yrs. ago now.
And having read ahead already, I see that the image is now gone.

I don't know what to make of it all but it bears watching, IMHO. :-) And I've been watching everything closely. Not easy, as fast as this thread moves. LOL!!

Exactly. Once it reaches the net, it's hysteria and palp.

Nearly any animal is good to eat once you find the proper preparation(a very few do have "parts" that are poisonous)and recipes. After the New Year entered,I checked the fridge for leftovers and all I found was cold catfish and armadillo tacos(possum on the halfshell is really good). :)

Earlier today, one of my kids came home with another that he happened to grab while visiting friends.

A lot of things that aren't often eaten in America are sent to foreign markets. Some of those things I don't eat very often for the simple fact that, when I have the correct permits to let me sell them commercially,I can sell them for more money than it's worth to me as food.

"If" any of our enemies manage to ruin our domestic stock,I don't think Americans will find it "too" hard to switch to more wild protein. Our Country has many animals and fish that are terribly under utilized and "should" be harvested as a control measure.

Americans are a tough, smart and resilient people,I don't care what anyone says. That's why we do so well when compared to others. When someone calls Americans soft,it's because they're seeing us when enjoying the fruits of our efforts, but when the going gets tough, the tough get going, and messing with determined Americans is a mighty foolish thing to do.

N. Korea to Let U.S. Experts See Nuke Site - Posted on 01/02/2004 3:11:59 AM CST by Conservative_Nationalist -N. Korea to Let U.S. Experts See Nuke Site 2 minutes ago - BY SANG-HUN CHOE, Associated Press Writer - SEOUL, South Korea - North Korea (news - web sites) has agreed to allow a U.S. delegation to visit its main nuclear complex next week, a South Korean official said Friday. - The trip would mark the first time outsiders have been allowed to inspect North Korea's main nuclear facilities at Yongbyon, north of Pyongyang, since the communist country expelled U.N. nuclear monitors in late 2002

I would not trust NK no more than Libya, this is all a plan IMO! Click for entire article

In an incident over the Pacific on Thursday night, a passenger on a Northwest Airlines flight from Detroit to Honolulu had to be restrained after he approached the cockpit, airline officials said. The man was escorted to the back of the plane by two off-duty pilots who happened to be on board and was arrested when the plane landed. Thomas Becher, a spokesman for Northwest, said he could not say whether the incident was related to terrorism... Developing...
