Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

" Report: FBI Investigates Possible Terror Tie in Tappahannock"
Updated: Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004 - 1:47 PM

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "TAPPAHANNOCK, Va. (AP) - The war on terror has turned to this tiny river town in eastern Virginia, where the FBI reportedly is investigating a person for possible ties to terrorist organizations.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported Thursday, however, that Tappahannock is not considered a target for a terrorist attack. The newspaper quoted sources it did not name.

Virginia's top homeland security official and a Tappahannock civic leader said in interviews Thursday they knew nothing of an FBI investigation."

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "NEW YORK — An autopsy performed on the body of a man found in the wheel well of a plane that landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport from London's Heathrow Airport was inconclusive, the medical examiner's office said Wednesday.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, remained unidentified — no identification was found on his body.

Port Authority police found the body on British Airways Flight 177 after the aircraft landed at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

John Lampl, a British Airways spokesman, said Wednesday that company officials were awaiting the autopsy results to determine whether the man boarded the plane in London or at an earlier stop.

Last week, the body of a man in his 20s was found in the wheel well of a flight to Kennedy Airport from Montego Bay, Jamaica."

British Airways Cancels Flight To Washington

Jan 1, 2004 1:00 pm US/Central
LONDON (AP) British Airways canceled one of its three daily flights from London to Washington on Thursday following security advice from the government, a spokesman for the airline said.

A Department of Transport spokeswoman said she was unable to comment on matters of security or whether the cancellation was a result of a specific threat.

The same flight, BA 223, on Wednesday was kept on the tarmac at Washington Dulles International Airport for several hours shortly after landing. U.S. authorities questioned all passengers and crew on board, the spokesman said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The spokesman said alternative arrangements had been made for the 180 passengers on Thursday's flight, which had been scheduled to leave London's Heathrow airport at 10:05 a.m.

He added that neither of the two other daily flights to Washington had been canceled.
