Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

How far down in feet is 10.0km? Does it seem that the earth quake was towards the surface since the floor is about -33 to -150 km deep? This look like a surface explosion...but just a guess...I'm not quite sure how to read the pictures accurately.

U.S. troops captured Husam al-Yemeni Thursday, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. He is described by U.S. officials as a top member of the al-Qaida linked Ansar al-Islam group and the leader of an insurgency cell in Fallujah, west of Baghdad.

Yes; from a quick web search, here are some cases where they did:

November 30, 1999: Jordanian officials successfully uncover an al-Qaeda plot to blow up the Radisson Hotel in Amman, Jordan and other sites on January 1, 2000. [PBS Frontline 10/3/02] A call between al-Qaeda leader Abu Zubaydah and a suspected Jordanian terrorist exposes the plot. In the call, Zubaydah states, "The grooms are ready for the big wedding." [Seattle Times, 6/23/02]

This call reflects an extremely poor code system, because the FBI already determined in the wake of the 1998 US embassy bombings (see August 7, 1998) that "wedding" was the al-Qaeda code word for bomb. [The Cell, John Miller, Michael Stone and Chris Mitchell, 8/02, p. 214]

Furthermore, it appears al-Qaeda fails to later change their code system, because the codename for the 9/11 attack is also "The Big Wedding." [Chicago Tribune, 9/5/02] US intelligence claims it failed to understand the code language for the 9/11 attacks.

I agree with you. I'm certain the government knows all about these posts and much more than anyone here will ever know about what's going on. As for Daleel and EOM, I just can't see them actually being al-Qaeda and posting some pretty specific things regarding upcoming attacks. But even to look back on some of them, they don't even seem so specific, and actually read more like someone who knows how to get around the net, with a very good understanding of how to exploit it and has a good imagination. I don't think operatives would allow the things they've been doing. But I'm also certain they're working on a big attack before or on 2/4, although I don't think they'll hold themselves to a deadline. Should 2/4 come and go without incident, I think they'll come up with something. I'm worried, but I have faith in the authorities that they're doing everything possible to crush any operatives before they go pull off their mission. I appreciate this thread though. Alot of good has come from it, and I wouldn't be surprised if US Intel has checked it out. From what's been posted here, it would be good for them if they have and still are.
