Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

Monday, November 3, 2003

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

"Jihad in Germany" (January 17, 2004)

A Tunisian man who was trained by Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan has been charged in Germany with trying to form a group there that would attack American and Jewish targets. Where did he go to find recruits for this endeavor? You guessed it — to a mosque:

The prosecutors' office said the 33-year-old man, named only as Ihsan G., had tried to recruit fellow-militants at a Berlin mosque to set off a series of bombs around the time of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq last March.

Here's the latest from BearWash on the mystery bug:

Dakota Direct illness still unknown

By John Stang

Herald Staff Writer

Dakota Direct and its parent corporation remained mum Friday on what illness led the company to send its Pasco employees home Thursday, and its subsequent cleaning and disinfection of the facility.

Employees returned to work Friday at the Pasco telemarketing shop, the company confirmed. The site employs about 190 people.

Questions to Dakota Direct were referred Thursday and Friday to the parent corporation, Atlanta-based West Corporation.

On Thursday, West Corp. said one employee had a potentially infectious illness, so the rest were sent home and the building was scrubbed as a precaution. On Thursday, West Corp. declined to identify the illness, citing privacy laws.

Phone calls Friday to West Corp. were not returned.

Meanwhile, the Benton-Franklin County Health Department has contacted Dakota Direct's offices in Spokane and San Antonio, Texas, and the West Corp. office in Atlanta, but could not obtain information on what disease led to Thursday's closure, other than it could be infectious.

"It's frustrating...We've had a lot of employees phone us, wondering what to do," said Heather Hill, the department's communicable diseases supervisor.

The health department and the Herald have received several rumors about what the illness could be, but neither have been able to confirm any of them.

"We have offered our support and assistance to Dakota Direct and their corporate offices and await their reply,.... We have had no reports of infectious diseases from other physicians or emergency rooms that would lead us to any concern at this time," the health department said in a written statement.

Someone else mentioned on the unidentified illness thread that a similar situation happened in Panama City Florida with Grolier and they had to shut down and move the operation.

It might just be meningitis but I don't understand why they can't leak that info to calm public nerves.

"KEEPING AN EYE ON THE ENEMY: WWP and ANSWER drumming up commie support for "World anti-war day""
Workers World ^ | January 15, 2004 | John Catalinotto

Posted on 01/17/2004 9:30:18 AM PST by tgslTakoma

"Call for world anti-war day
'Troops out of Iraq now--with no conditions'"

SNIPPET: "BULLETIN--Some 35 U.S. soldiers were reported wounded on Jan. 7 when mortar rounds made
a direct hit on a U.S. military camp west of Baghdad. The attack came just hours after a U.S. tank
destroyed a home in Fallujah, killing a couple and leaving their five children orphans.

By John Catalinotto

The ANSWER anti-war coalition, which called and organized many of the largest anti-war actions in 2002 and 2003, joined Arab and Muslim groups in the United States on Jan. 2 to announce plans for demonstrations on March 20, 2004, the first anniversary of the start of Washington's second war against Iraq.

The groups' statement emphasized the main demand of these protests: "End the Occupation--Bring the Troops Home NOW!" and said protests are already planned in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and other U.S. cities.

On Nov. 16, the European Social Forum had already endorsed March 20 as an international day of action. Marches and rallies have been called in many European cities, and the World Social Forum meeting in Mumbai, India, Jan. 16-21 will discuss expanding the action worldwide.

Signers of the Jan. 2 statement include the Arab Muslim American Federation, the Free Palestine Alliance, the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation and the Muslim Student Association. The call was joined by Al-Awda--the Palestine Right to Return Coaliton--the National Lawyers Guild, and 500 other organizations and individuals in the first four days after it was published."

Sean, I just read over at the Anomalies site where you stated yesterday that EOM was essentially finished. That he/she was most likely in the hands of Texas Rangers and no longer sitting behind the computer somewhere in Texas. I haven't seen you post anything regarding the undoing of EOM here at FR or perhaps I just overlooked it.
Did I misread your post at Anomalies or has EOM in fact been outed as a hoaxer?

Yes.
They need to specify what the disease IS or
to issue a press release as to what disease
they are testing for.

Don't bet on it, if it's the Egyptian authorities investigating. I mean, look what they did with the EgyptAir Flight 990 investigation. There's no doubt in most minds that the co-pilot committed suicide and took a planeload of people with him, but the Egyptian investigators deny it to this day.

I have a distinct feeling we'll never hear the truth on this one, either.

I don't think these are terror related, but here are a number of interesting shockwaves. If someone has the time then you can just change the last two numbers in the link and come up with many more. I actually like the 2nd one and it is in english.

I think folks have been concentrating to much on the Canadian borders after 911. We've been aware in the past two years that Mexican borders have become the traffic mall to America, especially since many arabs look Hispanic.
