Median Strategies, a "polling company" Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass publicly referenced during her reelection campaign, has shut down and said that all of its "polls" were counterfeit.
LA Mayoral Race: Median recently published a "poll" that showed the incumbent Bass leading challenger Councilmember Nithya Raman by nearly 12 points. Bass shared the "poll" in a since-deleted post on X and wrote, "Doing the work, showing up, and gaining momentum. Let's do this, LA!" Median claimed the "poll" was based on 560 LA voters between July 30 and August 5 and had a 4.1% margin of error.
LA Times Report: On August 17, The Los Angeles Times (Lean Left bias) said that after "repeated inquiries," Median told it, "Median Strategies was created as a short term social experiment to examine how purported polling information could enter and spread through the political information ecosystem without independent verification. We are not seeking publicity or attribution for the individuals involved and are declining interviews."
More From Median: Median added on its website, "All previously published polling releases have been withdrawn and should not be cited or treated as genuine polling data." The Times said Median began posting on X on August 9 and had 20 followers. It said no one at the company received any "compensation or financial benefit" and that it was not "funded, commissioned, or directed by any candidate, campaign, political party, PAC, media organization, or other outside entity."

Most all are fake
Personally I think this story is a lie to cover up for what is obviously election theft in the California election.
Having worked for a research scientist, the real deal by-the-way, I am very skeptical. He told us over beers why he was so stunningly successful at bringing in the business. He said, “My first question is always, ‘what are you trying to prove.’” The further the data was from the answer the customer wanted, the more voluminous the data was. The negative report was brilliantly constructed so that on a quick read, it proved whatever the objective was. But get into the data and then go back and read the summary and you’d soon see that the report was ambiguous. Not technically a lie, but an artfully worded construct of the truth. My belief in studies has been affected by my college experience with how the truth can be massaged into a lie and still not, technically, cross the line.
This is why my daughter has given up her goal of doing research. She’ll use her PhD to teach.

Much like most of the headlines in the “news” these days. They put a shocking headline that doesn’t match the true story knowing most people don’t read more than a few lines.
They actually could have done it, and tried. But the US military blocked the connection between the Dominion server in Serbia that was going to be used to steal the election using the “plausible” outcomes the engineers had been figuring out - which partly use polling results to make an outcome seem possible.
Elon Musk made sure he had plausible deniability but he helped get it done. It was lawful because election infrastructure had been declared by EO to be a national security issue. Nobody knew for sure whether it had worked or not until election day, 2024. That’s why Elon announced so early on election day that Trump was going to win; he had seen something indicating that the block was successful so it couldn’t be stolen for Kamala.

Elections in this turd world country are a real clown show. Nothing but cheating, phony ballots AND FAKEASS “VOTERS”. Nothing but crap. The New Amerika has become a joke of the universe. Polls are only used to sway elections. They mean absolutely nothing in the real world. Remember the poll that said Hitlery had an 85% chance of winning in 2016? Nobody wants to vote for the loser, so if it looks like your candidate is winning, voters are more likely to vote for the one that “appears” to be winning. That is the ONLY thing polls accomplish.

I’ve said it for years - anyone who believes polls is an idiot. Totally unregulated, non-transparent, and run by liberals who hate us. Tools for manipulation of public opinion, nothing more.

I would bet big money - probably even offer odds - this a “betting markets” manipulation front.
Being pretty libertarian - my threshold is pretty high for the government making things illegal.
But I will say - polymarkets, kalshi, etc? I think they’re a plague. I have a regular poker game and I also enjoy a day at the tracks or sitting at a table in Vegas. I’m not anti-gambling.
Degenerate gamblers do exist and there’s so much money sloshing around those entities that I have zero doubt high dollar money movers in gambling realms do things like this quite often.
Not saying I’d outlaw them. Yet.
But... maybe I should see if I can place a “bet” that this ‘experiment’ was actually a betting market mover at its core.
Scores of public, news and university polls all claim to be unbiased. At least these guys admitted they are fake.
