I’ve been banned from traveling to the UK. They revoked my ETA.

"Your presence in the UK is not considered to be conductive to the public to the public good."

Getting into an EU country has never been a problem for me. Getting out, well I’ve learned to get to the airport early and to have time for interaction with various officials while trying to identify the weapons the unsmiling folks standing in the open doorway are carrying.

Come to think of it when I was leaving Russia the agent checking papers stepped aside so that a supervisor could go through my documents.

Precisely the reason I've decided to not renew my passport. I enjoyed traveling in Europe and Turkey as an employee in the 90's. It is no longer safe to do so. I'll turn 70 in August. I'm happy to hang around my home in Idaho.
