Enjoyed a wonderful, week-long vacation in Sand Point in 2010. Even seriously viewed a home that was for sale there at the time. Hard to believe that the people there would vote for something like this! Is he an "import?"

Somebody yesterday said he is from San Diego, but he’s been in CdA a long time. Not sure where he is from.
My mom was born in Sandpoint in 1927! They lived there for six months until moving south to Potlatch, ID. It was a sleepy lumber town back then. I was there two days ago shopping for a replacement fireplace. Still a very nice town. There’s snow on the surrounding mountains!
I have confirmed before posting that it is the same Dan Gookin I know from the ComputerEdge days in San Diego. He also authored some XXX for Dummies books.

Coeur d’Alene is a very conservative “red” area. To have this Dan Gookin unleashed tells me the Dems are working to turn this area blue.
Yet another extreme bit of irony that we are witnessing.... that being that Gookin, as it turns out, happens to be ‘the’ ultimate Dummy of all (lefties = projection).
Yes, I go to Coeur d’Alene almost every July for an industry convention.
I also recall when there were the protests during the first Trump term after the death of the drug addict in MN.
They had a protest in Spokane and a fair amount of damage was done. There was a rumor that they planned one for Coeur d’Alene a few days later.
EXCEPT, all the locals showed up in downtown with their ARs, hunting rifles, etc. Every street corner had two or more armed men and women on it. A guy I know sent me a video of it that got posted on social media.
The protest got canceled. I guess they decided they would be safer protesting somewhere else.
I really don’t see the Coeur D’Alene area turning blue. Yes, there are a lot of CA transplants there, but the ones who came there WANTED to escape CA or WA because of the bad politics.
They know that northern Idaho is very conservative. That is different from the Boise area that has been invaded also by Ca transplants. It has become more liberal. It is also home to Boise State and the State government. So, those two things bring in the even the Idaho born liberals.
I’m in (was as I am caring for my elderly mother now) in Sandpoint. It may still go republicans but the Californicators have invaded. CDL has changed. And the new demographic are gay area Californicators. Houses that were 50 k NPT long ago are 500k now. Same in CDL And you can not deny that Biden dumped uncountable turds from the world over in the dark of night. I witnessed it at the Amtrack terminal.
