Enjoyed a wonderful, week-long vacation in Sand Point in 2010. Even seriously viewed a home that was for sale there at the time. Hard to believe that the people there would vote for something like this! Is he an "import?"

Somebody yesterday said he is from San Diego, but he’s been in CdA a long time. Not sure where he is from.

My mom was born in Sandpoint in 1927! They lived there for six months until moving south to Potlatch, ID. It was a sleepy lumber town back then. I was there two days ago shopping for a replacement fireplace. Still a very nice town. There’s snow on the surrounding mountains!

The name Dan Gookin sounds familiar from my time in San Diego. If it is the same person, he wrote technical articles for a local computer publication ByteBuyer and ComputerEdge. That is my only recollection. I would be surprised to find out that it is the same person. It's not a real common name.

I have confirmed before posting that it is the same Dan Gookin I know from the ComputerEdge days in San Diego. He also authored some XXX for Dummies books.

Coeur d’Alene is a very conservative “red” area. To have this Dan Gookin unleashed tells me the Dems are working to turn this area blue.
