On Morning Joe, Jon Meacham Suggests 'Infantile' Trump's Ballroom Moves A Cause for 'Revolution'

Someday in the future, when the causes of the Second American Revolution are discussed, at the top of the list might well be President Trump's decision to build a new White House ballroom.

If you believe Jon Meacham, that is.

On today's Morning Joe, panel regular and former Biden speechwriter Meacham began by warning the panel, and liberals at large, "Let's not bang on our high chairs here," i.e., let's not overreact to Trump's ballroom moves.

But, ignoring his own advice, Meacham proceeded not merely to bang on his high chair, but to do the rhetorical equivalent of filling his Pampers.

"You're not a king. You can't just do what you want to do when you want to do it. That's an adolescent response. That's really not fair to adolescents, right? That's infantile. Just to do it because you can is in some ways a definition of why we had the American Revolution."

I had a former employer that really saved a lot by heating a plant that built combines (harvest agricultural commodities like corn and wheat) by using waste packing material—there’s a lot of combustible wood in discarded packing pallets. Cool if Trump did that to heat the new ball room.

No surprise. Since the Demoncrats ... I mean Democrats ... probably can’t win an election, even by cheating, now it looks like they are trying to foment a revolution thinking the 77 million people that voted for Pres. Trump will all of a sudden back them.

What if George Washington wanted to build a ballroom with his own money?

Washington loved dancing. He would probably approve of a U.S. President building a ballroom with his own money.

I don’t remember who said it first on FR, but Jon Meacham sounds like the soiled diaper in the parking lot of life.

“It’s really not part of the Whitehouse. They do NOT touch.
I believe they are redoing the east wing which was a hodge-podge of two administrations.”

Thanks for the information. Haven’t heard that on the nightly news, especially that the east wing needed work.

Should we consider this two projects? Upgrade east wing and build ballroom?

It is a separate building with an access hallway to the main building.

Do you the West Wing to stand alone too?

Truman didn’t have much choice. The White House had become unsafe and need extensive renovation.

“If he says the East Wing was an engineering nightmare, then it needing replacing”

Greg Kelly had a long segment about this. He explained what the MSM is not reporting.

The East Wing is NOT being demolished or replaced. All that’s going away is a small porch at the end to allow connecting to the new ballroom. It is so insignificant that it probably isn’t even included in the square footage.

He showed an aerial view of the property with the affected area delineated. It is a pitiful small rectangle.

“The only problem I have with the ballroom project is making it part of the White House.”

It isn’t. According to schematics, it a totally separate building connected to the White House by a walkway.

Seeing Melania and the President dancing there will make all the usual flak irrelevant and pointless. It will be a moment for sure.

One problem when people say “Years from now history will show the people took a wrong turn by voting for the Dems and their policies” is that scumbags like Jon Meacham write the history. Like lawyers and teachers’ union members, the history book writers and their publishers boost Marxism and the wonders of the New Deal and the people like Hillary and Obama.
