Someday in the future, when the causes of the Second American Revolution are discussed, at the top of the list might well be President Trump's decision to build a new White House ballroom.
If you believe Jon Meacham, that is.
On today's Morning Joe, panel regular and former Biden speechwriter Meacham began by warning the panel, and liberals at large, "Let's not bang on our high chairs here," i.e., let's not overreact to Trump's ballroom moves.
But, ignoring his own advice, Meacham proceeded not merely to bang on his high chair, but to do the rhetorical equivalent of filling his Pampers.
"You're not a king. You can't just do what you want to do when you want to do it. That's an adolescent response. That's really not fair to adolescents, right? That's infantile. Just to do it because you can is in some ways a definition of why we had the American Revolution."

Don’t fire until you see the whites of their tablecloths!
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
On Zbigniew Brzezinski's daughter's husband's show, Jon Meacham Suggests 'Infantile' Trump's Ballroom Moves A Cause for 'Revolution'.
The lineage of these folks and therefore their political and geopolitical views leads directly back to Jimmy Carter's National Security Advisor.
Given Meacham is a Biden-ite, this is just Democrat central, MSNBC version. Legacy media goes back to legacies, and so the Johnson and Carter years echo.
Who knows more about construction, Trump or Meacham? If he says the East Wing was an engineering nightmare, then it needing replacing.
Perhaps Meachem can explain why there shouldn’t be a real ballroom.
Obama installed a basketball court, an redid the Oval Office in “earth tones”. Trump corrected that.
When the “country” wants to do a State Dinner, they have to set up a tent to hold the dinner. It’s really a crap optic for the US.
So, there is a true need and it will help the White House be a better host for a whole range of events.
Do I like the decor? Not really. But paint and wall hangings can be changed.
Oh geez, here it comes. A brand new insipid phrase that's going to be picked up and repeated ad nauseum by every media leftist in town. Just wait...
The Ballroom is long Overdue.
You’re not suggesting an insurrection are you, Jon?
it is fantastic, who know what future president can do with the white house now that it is okay to knock down old worn buildings that have no value.
we’d crap a brick if obama wanted to do this before, but now, future obamas could put a mosque in white house or maybe president vance will put a dawali touch to the ball room.
I hope not one single Rat will ever go into the Big Beautiful Ballroom!…but they will be cutting throats to get in💯💯and then the Rats can demolish it when they steal the Oval Office next🤷🏼♂️
What would really set them off is if Trump installed a coal fired heating system.
“The Ballroom is long Overdue.”
I agree with that. The only problem I have with the ballroom project is making it part of the White House. Why not make it a separate building. The White House is a home. Homes don’t have ballrooms that are larger than the homes.
However, Trump knows something about buildings.
I believe they are redoing the east wing which was a hodge-podge of two administrations.
You need to find a good rendering that shops the end product.
I also think adding the patio to the Rose Garden was a good move...I can't imagine walking on grass with 5" spikes...and then sitting in a crappy card table chair.
And their rallying cry: No Balls!
Seems to me that the “bang on our highchairs” saying is a perfect example of the typical Demolib behavior that it’s just so much projection (as usual) and cries out for some creative memes to circulate virally. Wishing I had that skill…but ready to copy/paste at will. 😁
Truman totally gutted the White Hut for renovation.
What would the Founders have thought if George III had built a memorial to the English victory in the Seven Years War with his own Royal funds?

I really just dont get the outrage, he’s doing this for the White House, once he’s gone the Ballroom will still be there, seriously, he’s paying for it HIMSELF what is the damn problem he’s giving the White House a gift ACCEPT IT..but they hate Trump SO DAMN MUCH they really dont care..now if Harris were doing this they would be having orgasms over it
