Another day, another Democrat “public servant” caught behaving like she’s above the law.
On Thursday night, Special Assistant Attorney General Devon Hogan Flanagan, a Democrat-appointed prosecutor with the Rhode Island Attorney General’s office, was arrested in Newport after refusing to leave a restaurant and berating responding officers with her supposed “status.”
According to a press release from the Newport Police Department, officers were dispatched at 9:51 p.m. on August 14 to the Clarke Cooke House after an entitled Hogan and her friend, Veronica Hannan, reportedly refused repeated requests to leave.
According to the bodycam footage obtained by Nicole Solas, Hogan repeatedly shouted “I’M AN AG” ELEVEN times while resisting officers. She even threatened police: “Buddy, you’re gonna regret this.”
Her arrogant outbursts didn’t faze Newport’s finest. One officer shot back, “Good for you. I don’t give a sh*t.”
Hogan even tried to make it a twelfth time, yelling “I’M AN A—” before officers shut the cruiser door in her face.

2/ After Asst. Attorney General Devon Hogan Flanagan yelled "I'M AN AG" ELEVEN TIMES, she threatened police. "Buddy, you're gonna regret this."
She tried to say it 12X but police shut the door after "A" & before "G."
So that's 11.5X.
I'm not sure, but I think she's an AG. pic.twitter.com/ps8kYqYVxq— Nicole Solas, Sued by the Teachers Union (@Nicoletta0602) August 18, 2025
Meanwhile, Hogan’s friend Veronica Hannan went into full meltdown mode. Police reports detail how Hannan slipped out of her handcuffs, kicked and screamed, and even growled and hissed at officers in front of a growing public crowd.

According to the Newport Police report obtained by GoLocal Prov News:
After several attempts of trying to move the parties along with verbal commands, I gently placed my hands on the backs of Veronica and Hogan, attempting to usher them away to avoid further conflict. Both parties still refused to leave and I grabbed Hogan’s left and right hands, securing handcuffs on her. While attempting to secure Hogan in handcuffs she repeatedly stated, “I’m an AG (Attorney General).” I informed Hogan that she was being arrested because of the fact that she was refused to leave after numerous lawful orders. Hogan was subsequently searched for weapons and contraband before being placed in the rear prisoner compartment of cruiser #16 which was previously searched.
Once Hogan was secured in the rear of my cruiser, I observed Officer Chiang struggling to place Veronica in handcuffs. I went over to assist Officer Chiang in securing Veronica in handcuffs. I grabbed Veronica’s left arm while Officer Chiang grabbed her right arm. As Officer Chiang went to place handcuffs on Veronica, she tensed her arms and pulled away. Veronica at one point screamed, “Get your fucking hands off me” as he was giving commands. Officer Chiang put his body weight into Veronica as he was attempting to secure the handcuffs on her as she continued to stiffen and resist hand placement.
While in the process of attempting to secure Veronica in handcuffs, her husband, James kept trying to interfere with the detention. With a single arm, I pushed James away and commanded him multiple times to get back. Eventually, Officer Chiang was able to secure Veronica in handcuffs, however, due to the petite size of her wrists, Veronica slipped out of the handcuffs quickly and took a few steps back. At this point, it should be noted that a large crowd had formed due to the loud and unreasonable noise that disturbed the general public in the area. I then immediately grabbed Veronica’s right hand firmly as Officer Chiang grabbed her left hand. I then placed Veronica in handcuffs as she still actively resisted by tensing…”
In another statement by Newport Police, an officer cited:
“Sergeant Lavallee booked and photographed Veronica and she was searched by Officer Gonsalves before being placed in cell #8. Officer Hutson booked and photographed Hogan and she was searched and fingerprinted by Officer Lopes. It should be noted that while booking Hogan, she was extremely uncooperative, berating officers, repeatedly stating her position as an AG and refusing to follow instructions. Hogan was eventually released with a District Court Summons.”
So why were they asked to leave the restaurant in the 1st place?
“What are the chances of her losing her job?”
For each ten million youtube video views the probability goes up by ten percent...
Lol.
Most likely drunk and disorderly and they were asked to leave..................
IMO ...
They shouldn't be ABLE to turn their body cameras off. The camera should be continuously recording video and audio from the moment they clock in to the moment they clock out.
This approaches the laconic reply issued in a 1976 official letter by Alabama Attorney General Bill Baxley to the ku klux klan, whose agents had threatened him: "Kiss my a**."
I don't like vulgarity and seldom use obscenities, but sometimes there's no better way to say it. Also obscenity can sink to the level of the addressee, i.e. the kind of language the addressee will understand and frankly deserves.
This is Rhode Island we’re talking about here.
The average IQ is about 80.
They’re as corrupt as they come.
Corruption is to Rhode Island as corn is to Iowa.
Crude, but effective......................
I'm sure the answer is interesting, but in a sense it doesn't matter. The restaurant is a private business; the owner or owner's representative has pretty wide latitude in telling people to leave. Refusing that request to leave private property very quickly becomes trespassing, a criminal offense.
> They shouldn’t be ABLE to turn their body cameras off. <
Totally agree. Evidently the Newport police have a policy where they must turn off their body cams if a witness or victim requests it. That’s a pretty dumb policy.
I suppose the policy is meant to protect innocent people if a news source requests the video. Wouldn’t it make more sense to just blur out the innocent people before releasing the video?
That's exactly the reason given. It's just that, in general, public servants simply cannot be trusted not to abuse the ability to turn the camera off. Therefore, the discretion as to what video can be released must be made after the fact.
And in related matters, Epstein didn't kill himself.
50/50 chance she’ll get three or four weeks off with pay as administrative leave and then when it blows over back in the office. However she did a pretty good job here so she may not skate. I expect that even if she does lose her job it won’t be too hard to find another. There plenty of law firms with lawyers that think just like she does.
In vino veritas
3 things that don’t lie: Small children, drunks and yoga pants
This article made me happy; thanks for posting.
yoga pants...lol!
Ain’t THAT the truth! 🤣
They do if they're Sovereign Citizens. Those guys are pretty fun to watch.
Oh, it's on Youtube. Gaining views as we speak.
Yes, I have seen a couple of those guys saying that they do not need to have a license to drive a car, or registration, blaa blaa blaa.
What I do like to see is the guys that literally know the law better than the arresting officer. They usually are the ones filming the incident. I watched one awhile ago where the cop was trying to boss this guy around. The cop eventually walked away because he knew he was wrong. Plus he had called into his supervisor who probably told him to walk away.
Would have been nice if the writer included that info.
