So can we assume that their tariffs on our goods will be basically lower overall?

The Marsha Plan…?

“Boy, if I only had a good guitar and a big amp
Boy, it wouldn’t be somebody else taking my girl away, I tell ya
I know what I should do... I’ll put an ad in the paper
Get a few other guys who want to play as much as I do
‘Tell ya, I ain’t playin’ no surf music
I’m gonna play some heavy music
I’m gonna play bad
I’m gonna play loud
I know just what I want it to sound like
It’s gonna sound like...
It’s gonna sound like…!!!…”

I read that Europe is supposed to invest over US$1 trillion and 15% tariffs against the EU across the board.

Between their NATO obligations, the new trade deal, wringing their hands over Russia/Ukraine, and the immigrant invasion they’re going through, Europe is gonna have their hands full for a looong time.

It’s about time we taught young ( under 50? 60?) Americans about the Marshall plan. We financially put Europe and Japan ( a similar plan with a different name) back on their feet after World War II. Trump always talks about the USA being treated badly, but he needs to teach people how it all started. It started from our generosity.

The Plan ended in 1951 and Europe was back on its feet.

THIS EU is a whole different ball game.

The Marshall Plan is Over –

In the aftermath of World War II the American federal government enacted the Marshall Plan, the transferring of US$13.3 billion (the equivalent of $173 billion in 2023) in economic recovery programs to Western European countries; the Marshall Plan has been described as "the launching of the Pax Americana".[6]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pax_Americana

"PAX" *is* the writing on the wall. No wonder nobody can read it:

When the Lord closes a door... somewhere he opens a window --

When these agreements are made the administration should put out the stats on what the situation was prior to the agreement compared to how it will be after the agreement.

I'm currently reading "Legacy of Ashes: The History of the CIA" by Tim Weiner. In it, he writes about the creation of The Marshall Plan, and how the funds put aside for it were used by the CIA to conduct political warfare. It let the agency skim unaccounted millions of dollars from the plan. Congress approved the plan and appropriated about $13.7 billion over five years. A nation that received aid from the plan had to set aside an equivalent sum in its own currency. Five percent of those funds...$685 million...was made available to the CIA through the plan''s overseas offices. It was a global money laundering scheme that stayed secret until well after the Cold War ended.

Where the plan flourished in Europe and in Asia, so would American spies. "We'd look the other way and give them a little help," said Colonel R. Allen Griffin, who ran the Marshall Plan's Far East division. "Tell them to stick their hand in our pocket."

The CIA had an unfailing source of untraceable cash, and many of the spies they hired, like Nazi War Criminals ended up being useless sources of info on the Russians they were supposed to be gathering intelligence on. How much money was wasted then, and has been wasted by the CIA since its inception? The CIA has never had to report to anyone, or disclose their secret operations. It's time that shit changed.

Biden, and even more so Harris would have not the least idea how to accomplish such things...
But they can talk Rainbows and Unicorns though...

US President Donald Trump and EU chief Ursula von der Leyen Sunday announced they had reached a deal to end the tariffs standoff between Europe and the USA, averting a full-blown trade war. The agreement came just before the August 1 deadline for the EU to strike a deal with Washington or face an across-the-board levy of 30 percent.
