After we visited Dos Jeronimos monastery we went to see the historic Belem Tower. Unfortunately, due to construction work on it, we were not allowed to go into the tower itself. However, I did take a few photos that reveals its unique architecture. After that a great tragedy was blessedly averted as I describe in the video. Let it serve as a warning to NEVER eat anything sold by street vendors in Portugal.

Just curious, what was averted?
An explosive ejection of volcanic lava running all over.
Enjoy and keep us up to date!
(Nov. 1, 1755--see Oliver Wendell Holmes, "The One-Hoss Shay," and Voltaire, Candide.)
I could eat a half dozen Pasteis de Belém. I loved Lisbon but Aveiro and Porto were awesome.
I see this warning in most countries, but some people like to tempt fate.
