The same thing happened a few weeks ago a farmer's market in Lakeland, Fla., where she was run off by the leftist Karens running the event. The next week, a crowd wearing red MAGA hats showed up at the market.
I just saw this on that stupid Next Door app. What gives? Short on details.

Seems to me like Bennet has a civil rights case here...
Paging the DoJ.
Note to the fuzz in that neck of the woods, here’s a refresher...

As I see it, the problem here is not with the lefties who run the farmer’s market. It’s with the police.
Here’s the way it should have gone:
Leftie: I want her removed from the market.
Cop: It’s public property. So, no.
Disclaimer: This assumes Bennet was talking to passersby without harassing them. If folks want to be left alone, leave ‘em alone.
Maybe the organizers just want to keep ONE event free from politics so people can enjoy themselves? I go to a lot of Farmers’ Markets in CA, WA and ID and do not see any political crap. Thank goodness.
Trespass on a public area? Definite constitutional violation. She needs a full time constitutional lawyer.
One thing we learned from Covid is that most police will unquestioningly follow orders no matter how wrong or unconstitutional.
The city’s statement said “a selectively edited version of the footage was later released publicly.”
Lakeland said the officers asked Bennett to remain on the sidewalk to avoid disrupting market vendors. The city said that no one was trespassed from the farmers market.
“The City of Lakeland fully supports the First Amendment rights of all individuals and does not discriminate based on the content or viewpoint of anyone’s speech,” reads the city’s statement. “The Lakeland Police Department remains committed to responding to all service calls and will continue to enforce all applicable City ordinances and State Laws.”
Maybe no one wants to hear political rambling while buying fruits and vegetables. Just because you CAN do something, it doesn’t mean it always appropriate.
Interesting. We applied for a booth at a public market recently and were told that there was no place for us because: “There are too many vendors who already do similar things to what you do.” What do we do? We display and sell Christian books and artwork.
I have been to the market dozens of times and I know that there are no other vendors there that do what we do. My assumption is that the reason for this is that Christian vendors are banned — which is against the law.
The people who run these things always claim to be “welcoming and inclusive.” They are not.
Kaitlin Bennet, you go girl. I was escorted to the door of a casino by armed security, twice.
We shop often at the farmers market. It sure brings out the loons though.
My wife was looking at some produce at one place and I whispered “Sorry, I’m not doing business with a guy wearing a dress.”
Another sold homemade hummus and proudly stated that most ingredients were sourced in some fictional county they call Palestine. Nope. Not buying any.
