Many FReepers view the Russia-Ukraine war as a good vs evil thing. They have differing views on who’s good and evil.
But, broadly, except for some extremists, NOBODY wants one penny from the US Treasury going to either cesspool of a country.
And the same is said for sending US soldiers to R-UK, and I’d also include sending any military equipment for free.
The same can - and should - be said for Israel and Hamas, AND Israel and Iran (though Israel is not a cesspool from what visitors have relayed to me).
Yes, Hamas is a terrorist organization and what they did is worthy of bone-crushing retaliation by Israel. And free the hostages.
The govt of Iran is equally repulsive.
Beyond that, as with Russia-Ukraine, I wish the innocent party Israel all the best. Go get ‘em. But no $ or treasure or ordnance.
As with Russia-Ukraine, people should feel free to Venmo as much as they want to Israel. They can even pay for a ticket to fly to Gaza or Jerusalem and help out.
But if people are consistent, they should not want any of our tax/borrowed money or soldiers or “free” bombs etc. going ANYWHERE outside of the USA.
