Tina Louise was spotted on a different island.
The Gilligan’s Island alum, 91, made a rare public appearance June 4 in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, marking her first sighting since she attended the New York Film Festival in 2022.
For the outing, Louise—who portrayed the aptly named Ginger Grant on the CBS sitcom from 1964 to 1967—donned a black leather jacket and blue jeans. She complemented the look by sporting her signature red hair, black sneakers and carrying a navy blue umbrella and two black bags.
Since appearing on Gilligan’s Island, Louise—who is the last living cast member, surviving fellow stars Bob Denver (Gilligan), Alan Hale Jr. (The Skipper) and Dawn Wells (Mary Ann Summers)—has made a pointed attempt at extending her legacy beyond the ‘60s sitcom.

That’s the great thing about FR, isn’t it? I broadened your mind today. Never stop pondering.
She has a strong resemblance to my wife. She is 95. or is it 96?
I turn 95 in a week or so.
They weren’t kiddin’ when they sang “You Need Us”. :^)
I think you should get your testosterone checked if you think it was about taking Mary Ann horse riding.
"... and the rest"
Oh snap!!
Honestly, if there were two single women on the island with you,. you could hardly do better than the pair of them.
Hey, Lovey was probably something back in the day, too.
Ginger makes me want to howl
I’m sure she didn’t have the career she thought she was going to have before taking the Giligan job. It’s a shame the cast didn’t make much money off residuals. The rest of the cast seemed to embrace their roles, if nothing else to get a bit of the gravy train.
Congrats to the both of you sir.
Signed,
A whippersnapper.
Some of the current bunch in HW will not look past 55.
She looks pretty darn good for 91.
"And the rest."
Reportedly she has said how she was led to believe the show Gilligan’s Island was to be her show and revolve around her. She’d was to be the central, main star of the show. But the creators of Gilligan’s Island were puzzled as to what made her think that. As they point out, the name of the show is Gilligan’s Island. Not Ginger’s Island.
Depends on when and where you are. On the Ranch riding horses, Mary Ann.
On the town, at a gala, at a swanky night club, entertaining the boss, Ginger.
In the sack, both, at the same time.
Here’s a little-known fact for ya, Sammy: When Dawn Wells won the role of Mary Ann Summers, she beat out an up and coming actress named Raquel Welch for the part.
I know. I liked Russell Johnson. He was in good episodes of the Twilight Zone, The Invaders, and Gunsmoke.
Actually, she was a pretty good looking young woman.
Yes I agree.
It’s most unfortunate what happened to Tina though...
Those in the know say that she was a fun loving young lady. Sorry she got in on the early days of cosmetic surgery.
Anyway it’s nice to see that she’s still with us, since Dawn passed.
Suzy, I’d say that worked out well for RW.
